Game Thread: Live NFL Draft 2011 Thread

Cam Newton's welcome from his offense line.

From Panthers' guard Ryan Kalil's twitter account:

Congratulations to entertainer and icon, Cam Newton. Welcome to the team.

I loved the boos that rained down on him after his name was called. That was sweet.

I'm really not sure how to react to the Panthers drafting Cam. Not sure if I can root for him. I've been a Panthers fan since I was in middle school but this is seriously making me reconsider.

Stick with your team, man. If you are truly a fan of the TEAM then stick with them no matter who they draft. The team/organization is bigger than 1 player. Well actually Cam was bigger than Auburn...lol. But seriously, I have always been a Cowboys fan and I always will. Just like I'll always be a Bama fan.
JMO...

I really didn't think it would bother me this much. I'm sure I'll get over it eventually though.

I'm in disbelief that Gmac isn't gone yet and also Deandre Brown.

Deandre's had some tough luck but he's better than 90% of the receivers who have been drafted.

I still say Dallas will take GMac. Somebody is stupid if somebody doesn't take him.

Congratulations to Greg. The Jets list 5 QB's on their roster. (They do not have a depth chart on their website. Sound familiar) Sanchez, Mark Brunnel, Kellen Clemons from Oregon 5 yrs exp, Drew Wiley from Buffalo U 1 yr exp, and Kevin Odonnel from San Diego St with 3 yr experience.

We'll probably all disagree with Julio being the worst... My rationale is that for many teams drafting early in the first round, he'd go somewhere where he had to be the #1 guy immediately for a team with offensive struggles. In Atlanta, he has some pressure relieved by being the #2 guy, particularly in a potent offense with one of the premier young QBs in the league on a team that won 13 games last year.

I can't believe Jake Locker isn't on the worst marriages list. He'll have immediate pressure to win on an offense with a new HC, and he's not a guy who needs immediate pressure.

I'd also think Anthony Castonzo would be one of the best.
