What's the story behind your TideFans name?

I sometimes look at the various TideFans "handles" and ponder their origin or meaning. Some are obvious. Some aren't. Soooo... No harm in asking. :) We're still a week away from kickoff.

In my case, my last couple of years before retiring, I referred to myself as The Fossil when working with young engineers and technologists. I like the moniker so I adapted it for use on TideFans.

What's the story behind your handle?

Always an interesting thread. I've used my username on the net since 2001, when I 1st discovered forums and sports
boards. I am a Tider from birth, but I've been a proud citizen of the great State of Mississippi for the past 30 years...thus MississippiTider.

My original handle on TF's was "Blindbuzzard" which was my handle on another site because everything else I keyed was taken so as a "joke" I just typed in "Blindbuzzard" and noone had it so I took it. Got here and kept it for a while and somehow for some reason I just thought Bamabuzzard fit better.

I picked my name on impulse, as a hat-tip to a mis-spent youth hanging out in the old Chukker bar in Tuscaloosa. :)

well as nerdy as this sounds..its for a couple of diffrent reasons. First obviously, growing up steve austin was my favorite wrestler and is one of the greatest wrestlers in wwe history. Nick saban is one of the greatest Coaches in college football history. plus it kind of reminds me of sabans scowl..and how at first glance his demeanor and style is "stone Cold" obviously coach saban has a very caring side of him and seems like a very generous person. But i always liked that perosona he would adopt with the media that would sling mud at him... that "i don't give a crap attitude...don't hack me off" also all the way back to his days at lsu his teams had this style of punishing opponents methodically and physically. So yeah a lot of things went into "Stonecoldsaban"

I like this thread because I have often wondered myself where some of these names came from or mean.
The DMD part of mine is a designation for my dental degree. While many dentist are DDS, the DMD is used by the University of Alabama dental school.

I wish mine had some deep, intellectual logic, but truthfully, when I signed up, the first thing I noticed was the serial number on my computer....went with it.

Wow! I haven't thought of the Chukker in years. Mine is from a family term used for the hypothetical "anybody". Replacement for the term "John Doe". I knitted my avatar. Well, I knitted the "Teddy Bear Bryant" seen in my avatar.

dWarriorsXX (where the XX is our number) was our group of football players from our High School team back when I was still lived in Mobile. We used the tag name dWarriorsXX on our xbox live account names.

Davidson Warriors 88

I still miss playing for Davidson.

Mine ought to be obvious.

But I wish it was different. This was the first Internet discussion board I was ever on. I wanted a handle that communicated (since I lived in MS) my undying love and lifelong loyalty (e.g. unbending allegiance) to the University.

I was born at New Vaughn Memorial Hospital when my father was stationed at Craig AFB. My mother is a Judson College graduate who taught school in Selma in 1969 before having me.

Some of you may remember me as Hollingsworth89 from ncaaboards (BamaJeff, for example and the late, great Bayoutider). That was because Hollingsworth was my first real favorite QB (post-Steadman Shealy) and his great year was 1989.
