****Official Postgame Thread - Bama v. Florida ****

Great team victory!! We overcame some early adversity and controlled the rest of the way. The lingering negative is our kickoffs. We can't let a team start at or past the 30 yard line nearly every time. Other than that, outstanding game all around!!

actually, i think we can ;)

Great win!

Our defense is almost unfair. This team reminds me of what Coach Bryant said about the '61 team. They play like it's a sin to give up a point.

Probably the best game by the o-line this year, and against top shelf talent, too.

I'm a bit surprised at the score but not shocked. I had a strange feeling about this one that we were going to lay the wood. I was doubting myself early on, but it became apparent relatively quickly what was going to happen. We were lights out after the 2nd series by UF.

Also, I hate to even bring this up after a 4 TD win, but the officiating was very poor. Not biased, mind you, just poor in general and it hurt UF as much as us. The non-call on Brantley's fumble cost him a chance to finish the game.

I was going to post about the poor officiating, not bias, just inept.

Re: ****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Florida...****

I cannot imagine anyone naming a team in history that's decidedly better than this team. Not sahing we can't slip vs LSU, but this really is unfair to the rest of the SEC right now. Can't wait to read JessN's review of the harbingers of death on that OLine and the grim reaper that is that defense. I seriously couldn't have imagined UF being held to those stats.

hated to see Dre and Robert get crossed up on the first play, but the defense settled in nicely.

Would love to AJ learn to hit the long ball.

That's all I've got in terms of 'negatives', and that's just nitpicking.

This team is AWESOME. My goodness, that defense is nasty. Freaking NASTY.

Re: ****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Florida...****

This team is looking more and more like the '09 team with each passing week. Once the defense settled in it was lights out for the Gators, they had no chance.

The 09 team struggled at times (USCe and UT)

I don't foresee that happening. This team is better than the 09 team was at this point.

Recap... Last Week we beat up Arkansas
This week we beat up Florida.(Brantley & Demps injured trying to play us.)

NEXT VICTIM... :)

Roll Tide Roll :BigA:

Re: ****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Florida...****

Had A.J. been more accurate, we might have scored 50. The first indication was our first drive when Florida's defense -- you remember, the one that was supposed to be good against the run -- got knocked off its feet. After that, it was just a matter of time.

Well get ready for it guys, you know what the *U party line will be tomorrow: "Florida was way overrated."

Re: ****Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Florida...****

Tell ya what...I'd take playing Vandy after Florida over playing a buzzsaw USCe after Florida everyday of the week and twice on Sundays. And the fact that they're 3-1 helps our cause when the BCS rankings come out..so you know...

Agreed wholeheartedly. And I think the maturity level on this team is much higher than last year. It's extremely difficult to play at this level for several weeks in a row, but we're getting some breathers to close out the month. At least, as close to breathers as you can get in the SEC.
