Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints have reached an agreement on a five-year, $100 million contract that all sides concur will guarantee Brees an NFL-record $60 million, including a first-year take in 2012 of $40 million, according to league, players union, and team sources.

The Saints handled this horribly. They should have locked him up after the Super Bowl win.

This is the worst contract hassle from a PR standpoint that I've ever seen in Pro sports.

The Saints, without Brees, are the Colts without Manning. He's that valuable, especially with all the other crap going on.

Basically they just signed their Quarterback and Head Coach for next season. I can't believe it took them so long to pay the guy what he truly deserved.

Go Saints! sip

I'm just glad it's over and he will be there for a while. Like Sip said he will be the quarterback, head coach and offensive coordinator this year. But not the head cheerleader.....that is still my job. Lol Geaux Saints!

Oops, I just realized I posted under my husband's account instead of mine. Sorry honey!!
