Suspend him for the FIRST PLAY of the first game, like Dye did with his quarterback.

considering how much AU fans were pleading and hoping that Clemson would suspend Sammy Watkins for the game, I believe they had this one coming.

That's prolly what will happen..I bet Chiz will flex his disciplinary muscles & suspend him half a game..Reese will play against Clemson..Too much riding on this for Chiz..

Re: AU football player arrested last night?

Love his classy comeback to the person who asked if he was at Bama in that picture.

What was the deal with the Clemson player Barners were riled up about?

Him shouting the racist remarks is strange. You'd think in this day and age, people would at least have enough sense not to say things like that, even if you feel that way.

Wait, he signed with API. We know he doesn't have any sense.

I'd probably get blackout drunk as often as possible too if I had the memory of those workout shorts to try to deal with.

Re: AU football player arrested last night?

Was this the Auburn PD? He must have been completely out of control to catch a PI charge there. I don't think Chiz will suspend him. Their backup C would be a freshman or a walkon right? Just wait a couple days and charges will be dropped. If questioned about it, Chiz will talk about God and fambly and they'll run a couple more tree stories. Nothing to see here.
I was just about to say it must be about time for another tree story.

Re: AU football player arrested last night

After reading some barn threads on the situation, I was actually surprised. It seems like more people are saying he shouldn't play, than fans that are saying he should. There's the obvious ones saying "Its just a PI", but many more thinking he should be suspended AT LEAST one game. One quote stuck "I'll be very disappointed if he plays against Clemson"

Re: AU football player arrested last night

Although the police supposedly "dropped" charges in the McDonalds incident, (wasn't he intoxicated then also?) this would technically be strike 2, so it's going to be interesting to see if he suspends him 1 or 2 games. And Chizik has a bigtime discipline problem on his team, even a few sane barn fans are starting to recognize it...

I prefer not to gloat about this type of thing. In a heartbeat, it could be one of ours in this type of situation.

Seeing this image of a recruit surrounded by 4 "bunnies" reminds me of a story i've heard several times from several former Alabama folks. Bear Bryant was supposedly quoted as having said (I will give the PG version) - "College chicks are undefeated in recruiting"........

Re: AU football player arrested last night?

No real depth for this team at center, so losing him for Clemson could be a big issue. By no means near the loss of Watkins, but a bigger loss than most would think.

As for Auburn, it's just another off-field incident. Pretty clear that many of the players down there are just out of control and discipline is just a meaningless word on the Plains. You have to be forty fathoms deep in orange and blue Kool-Aid not to see it.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

I'm not sure why everyone faults the kid for this. You couldn't have pulled me away from those gurls when I was his age. I would not only have committed on the spot, I would have transferred to the nearest place I could find to finish out high school. Hmmm...
