So, amidst all the trash talk How do you feel about "Sweet Caroline?"

I'm sure I am the minority. I HATE IT. I don't remember it being played in BDS or Legion Field when I was in school (87-92), but that may have been due to the Bourbon and Coke. :) It is a song that I never liked and now that I know who it was written about and how old she was, I hate it even more. Crank the Sweet Home Alabama!!

I like Sweet Caroline in Coleman Coliseum for basketball games, but not in Bryant Denny. I think the atmosphere in BDS is all-business, and Sweet Caroline kind of takes that away...

That being said, when I go to Ole Miss games and they play it, Ole Miss fans actually wake up and participate, so I'm a fan of it there. I just don't think you need it in Alabama's stadium.

I never got it. However, it is better than being on the field losing a game and your band/fans start singing "Hey Baby. I wanna know right now. Will you be my girl." It's humilitating I tell ya.

I think Neil Diamond has a terrific agent to get that song played every weekend at college football games across the nation. I could see it at the schools in Carolina. But it doesn't really fit anywhere else.

Hate that garbage - Bama fans gat an anger on when other programs copy off our traditions - leave that garbage for the Red Sox

Hate. Pure, unadulterated hate.

"But Jamie, how do you really feel?"

We have so much history and tradition at Bama. There is no need to rip others' traditions or do something that doesn't fit. Think of all the wonderful things we have:

The intro videos
Bryant's voice
Thunderstruck
Sweet Home and Dixieland Delight
Tusk

All of it fits. I'm even a little leery of Hell's Bells on third down, though it DOES make it cool for the announcer to follow it with "It's ... third down." That's unique.

I hate to break it to you but Tusk was USC's song long before it was ours. Besides... Tusk isn't referring to an elephant, either.
