Game Thread: Arkansas at the barn

I think Vandy will find a way to beat 'em. If that happens, all bets are off and Cheez will probably be packing...

Ha! If they lose to Vandy, he won't have to pack. He'll be run out of town so fast he won't have time to pack!

And yeah, I know what Pat Dye said about him. But PD will make the excuse that he "doesn't control the athletic department at AU." (and we all know that's right, ...right? )
Actually, if they lose a couple more, Cheez whiz will be making a late night call to Iowa State to see if they'll take him back.

*uburn fans might be upset today, but they will calm down to the point where they accept having a bad team this season and remember that "wonderful night in Tempe" (their words, not mine).

Then they come in to Tuscaloosa and we absolutely run them out of the building. Lose to Bama 4 out last 5, by large margins in 3 of those, and that will be more than they can stand.

As we've said on here many, many times, "Any team can get up for one game". As bad as Arky has been, and truthfully as bad as the barn has been, I still thought for sure the barners were going to smash them.
But today, Arky "got up" for the barn - and I'm lovin' it.

What I find humorous is the fact that they are still praising Van Gorder as a defensive genious. I have yet to see them play well on defense with the exception of the LSU game and that was more of LSU's lackluster offense. I am a Falcon's fan was couldn't wait for him to get out of Atlanta. His defenses were horrible. There was a reason he was fired by Atlanta.

But, but, but - Atlanta didn't fire BVG - Coming to Aubren was a step up!!!!

Right now, I'd say us and UGA are definate losses and NMSU and Bama A&M are definate wins. So that puts them at 3-6. I think they could possibly win any of the ones against Vandy, Ole Miss and aTm. With some Barn luck, they could go 6-6 and make the Birmingham Bowl.

I think even at 3-9, they keep Cheesy, partly due to the buyout and partly because of the ring on his finger. But an upset in one of the money games and he is out.

I think Rick Neuheisel would look great in prison-orange and navy :D

Made an Aub mad by asking why Auburn was "young." I was told to go to Bama fans. They need some lotion for their sensitive skin.

Auburn fans at at the uncomfortable point where you run out of excuses and the reality of a bad situation stares you in the face. They didn't like the results last year, so they got rid of the coordinators. Now the play-calling is as poor as it ever was and the team is suffering the effects of implementing the new systems. They said they were young, and things would improve after good recruiting classes. This year, the team is still "young" due to so much of the recruited talent either never qualifying, transferring, or being kicked off the team, and the ones that did make it to the Plains aren't maturing as players. They tried to pin the blame on Frazier and complained that Clint Moseley needed a chance to show what he could do. Today, Moseley replaced Frazier after a dismal first half and turned in an even more inept performance that drove the fans out of the stadium.

Now, there are no more excuses. There's no one left to blame except the head man himself, and we're about to see how much certain influential people in the "family" are willing to put up with in order to keep him. Things are going to get very, very ugly in Opelika-Adjacent this season.

Despite what Dye said, Will the barn pony up the 7.5 mill buyout if Chizik goes 3-9 or 4-8? And who would be available?
I doubt it . At least not yet . As for a possible replacement/pawn/puppet , David Gibbs is currently unemployed :)
