Where do you like to go for BBQ?
When I come home to Alabama next week, I will make it a point to get some Bunyan's BBQ to eat.

No, it's not. The owner (John C.) closed it and sold the building. It's now a Mexican bar/restaurant.I used to love Johnny Rays in Homewood. Not even sure if its still there. I also like that place on 82 between Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
It's no longer there, but my wife and I used to be regulars at the Johnny Ray's on Highway 31 in Vestavia.I used to love Johnny Rays in Homewood. Not even sure if its still there. I also like that place on 82 between Montgomery and Tuscaloosa.
It is gone also. The same man that owned the one in Homewood owned, and sold, the one in Vestavia as well. I don't recall the exact type of business that is there now, but I don't think it's a restaurant. It's no longer there, but my wife and I used to be regulars at the Johnny Ray's on Highway 31 in Vestavia.
They serve it at the Juke Joint also.Saw's Soul Kitchen or the original in Homewood. At the Soul Kitchen, there's the famous Pork, Greens and Grits.
The original location, just off Greensprings on Valley was torn down maybe a year ago.No, it's not. The owner (John C.) closed it and sold the building. It's now a Mexican bar/restaurant.
One in Mobile sucked...you couldn't tell what you were eating, it all tasted the same...I mean it ALL tasted the same; beans, potato salad, chicken, ribs, pork...might as well have put it all in a blender. Glad it closed.Love The Shed in Ocean Springs -- haven't been to the new one -- have been to the one that burned down a while back -- it was a little dingy -- not sure the Health Dept would have approved, but the food was pretty awesome.
