****Bama vs. CSU Postgame Thread****

Did we even have 100 yards rushing? We seemed to have almost abandoned the run in the second half. Of course I'm sure Jim Mac told his defense exactly what to key on in the game.

Will Amari Cooper be good to go next week as I didn't see him tonight.

All in all, a win is a win, and I'll take a win over a loss any day. But if we play like this in some games down the road, it could be an ugly year. Krymsonman

I say this partly in jest, but the thing that comes to mind for me is that Alabama played like they bet on Colorado St. The game was never in doubt, but they really didn't seem to be trying to put them away all that hard.

Maybe they didn't want to beat up on one of their old coaches. Krymsonman

With the blatant attempt to not establish a running game or do much of anything schematically. I'm convinced this was our gameplan. I'm just not sure what we were trying to accomplish tonight with playing as we did.
Yeah we were just way to conservative for my liking in the 1st half, we passed more for sure, but, it was constantly those little quick passes, with hopes our WR's turn them into big plays..Had we went deep & over the middle passing the ball early in the game..This game would have been over at the half & I honestly think it would have helped our O-Line by opening up the running game..

Last season we had a big win on the road against LSU and had a letdown the following week. -- TAMU took advantage of it.

This season we had a big win on the road against TAMU and could be a letdown the following week. -- But this year CSU didn't have the horses to take advantage.

I only saw the last third of the game or so and that is how it felt to me. I know it isn't true, but it just felt like Alabama wanted to win, but not much else. Some very odd play calling. I think when I turned the game on midway through the 3rd you guys only had like 10 rushes. Crazy.

Overlook the Blake Sims to Chris Black catch-and-run at your own peril...or unwarranted pessimism.

If we would have tried to establish a running game the game would have been over quick. The game plan/play calling was so bland and the focus/intensity so lax it made for a frustrating game to watch. I don't see where we accomplished much in this game. This was a borderline waste.

Meanwhile LSU's offense just keeps getting better.

I'm not sure what to make of this game.

We were definitely not up for it, which is understandable. I remember hearing a coach say once that it's is impossible to get a team up for more than 4 or 5 games a year.

The offensive play calling looked backwards to me. Passing to establish the pass and barely running the ball at all.

If I didn't know better, I'd say all this out-of-character offense was purposeful. Come to think of it, I don't know better.

All in all, a good win. 31-6 against a very spunky CSU squad is fine with me. No college team is invincible and some of us need to temper our expectations a bit.

Tonight should make for an intense week of practice. Ole Miss will come to play next Saturday night.

I suppose that's a good way to put it. The problem is CNS hasn't been happy (and not even close) for the way we played in each of the 3 games so far. We're not really improving. I think maybe we win a close one against Ole Miss. We'll do ok probably until we play LSU. And then we're going to get it handed to us.

Depends on how you look at it. In my opinion, defense clicked in the first game, offense clicked in the second game, and we came away with an "easy" win in the third game. We have the best coach in college football, and he hates to lose. It's not a bad place to be right now.
