If he goes to court, FSU policy (school, not AD) is that he be suspended, so that will be automatic. If he is convicted and serves his time, he can play again. Nothing to stop it from happening with respect rules/laws.
What I heard on Espin is exactly this - once charged FSU policy requires suspension from school.
Well, in reading all the links you all have posted--it seems she reported it fairly quickly AND the physical exam of her showed it was not consensual. Somehow, they can tell these sorts of things but I don't know how........ At least, that's the impression I got.
Jameis has not been charged yet, last I heard, although that could change today. I hate it for the young man but if it were my daughter I would be seeing red. It doesn't look good that he has already been caught in a lie.

No, it's worse for the roommate. Think of it this way: if you are in the car with your buddies and they knock over a liquor store you are also being charged. This other guy can and should be charged as an accessory to assault. You don't have to participate actively in the crime to be charged. Many years ago my uncle, who was asleep in the back seat of the car, was charged when his buddies decided to rob a store.

I don't see this as a negative sports story. I see it as a possible crime covered up because the accused is a local celebrity. Yes, he is a sports celebrity - but this happens with all types of celebrities and people with power. This is our society, not sports.
