Vote for AJ McCarron for Heisman

I think he's a great QB, but he's not Heisman material. Regardless of how you slice "most outstanding player," McCarron hasn't accounted for 200 total yards in most of Alabama's games this year. Manziel has over 300 in every game except Rice -- where he played exactly 1 1/3 quarters (and threw for 3 TDs). Statistics have to count for something, and at his position this year -- in the conference and nationally -- AJ just doesn't have any stats that are outstanding.

They are in two totally different systems and you really can't compare the two as far as stats are concerned.they play two totally different roles. Aj does not need or have to exhibit outstanding passing yards as Bama actually has a run game to compliment the passing game. While Manziel has eye candy stats, he hasn't exactly managed to lead his team to the promise land as of yet. So yes stats account for something but so do wins, efficiency, td to int. ratio and championships. I will certainly take what McCarron has produced over any other qb over the last 3 years.That certainly has to account for something

Right now, that's not an issue. The leaderboard shows:

JFF's percentage has slipped to 22%. Jordan Lynch is coming up strong at 17%. JW is at 14%, no change from last week. Mariota is 11%, slipping down. And A.J. stays at 10%.

But if JW were at the top. . . and if he's arrested, suspended and not eligible to play football, he's not eligible to win the Heisman. No football = no Heisman. Right?
 
It truly never ceases to amaze me how some of the sports reporters on ESPN and Fox seem to totally disregard the winning QB that McCarron is and the fact that he stays clean in his personal life. I heard a discussion last night on the possible Heisman candidates on FOX Sports and never heard AJ's name mentioned, unless they mentioned it prior to me switching to their channel. They discussed JM and JW in detail and mentioned other names I had never heard of (wasn't Mariota) that were not QB's. I truly wish AJ would get the attention he so rightfully deserves.
 
The guy's got 3 NC rings already (working on a fourth), a super-model girlfriend and is the QB of the Alabama Crimson Tide. A Heisman would be nice; but I have a feeling AJ thinks life's pretty good as it is.

AJ seems to fit the bill even without gaudy numbers. If Winston is charged and AJ holds serve the next two weeks he'll win.

By the way AJ is a 2/1 favorite right now. Winston is 1/2.
