Clemson lineman says Alabama's run defense "hasn't been tested"...

Never thought I would ever want a weekend to end quickly and a Monday to come quickly.

I've been amped up for this game all week, i never knew adrenaline could keep you going for days on end. I don't know why, but the 11 day wait is killing me. Past NCs and the playoff game didn't bother me at all. Monday can't get here soon enough!

There is absolutely no truth whatsoever about Alabama having a good run defense.

And where did their RB finish in the Heisman's?
That being said...OK...test Bama...I really can't wait.
If they can run on Bama's defense, they'll have earned some respect from me...some.

Roll Tide!

LOL! They have no clue what is waiting for them on Monday night!

RTR!

At this point, I don't just want to beat Clemson, I want to humiliate them so badly they question whether they should even continue to have a football team. I hate their colors, the prissy style of offense, and their cockiness despite being nobodies.

Let the hate flow, I want Bama to crush these clowns.

I have to say. When I hear this comment and take a step back to analyze it as logically as I can, I come to 2 potential places of origin.

#1: He actually just believed what he said, and is therefore delusional. Genuinely deluding himself into believing that another mortal football team such as themselves possess a RB look that hasn't been thwarted consistently by this front 7. This would stem from a belief that every offensive line Bama has faced is so inferior in competition that anybody should be EXPECTED to stop their RB anytime he touches the ball. This logically means he believes that Clemson's OL will manhandle Bama's DL at the line of scrimmage OR they will use tempo and trickery in a way we haven't seen (forgetting we played Auburn) to get the ball moving. In any case, if he ACTUALLY believes what he is saying then he has willfully ignored patent facts about life. It's like the leader of Iran denying the Holocaust ever happened. Delusional.

The 2nd possibility is that it's just tactical misinformation to persuade Bama that they need to practice and prepare for fresh running looks. The truth is, Clemson might have more success just abandoning the run from the first snap and airing the ball out. IF the play action wasn't such a integral part of their identity, I'd say to expect it. Who knows, maybe they do plan to do something like that because I have a hard time believing any player could be that delusional.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Clemson have some early success against us running the ball like Auburn did. Against Auburn, we played safe with the "mush-rush" concept to keep their QB in front of us and AU was able to push the LOS 3yds downfield for some running success. Then we tightened the noose and all that went away. So if the running room is their in the first half, it will disappear in the 2nd.

If by "tested" he means that our run defense hasn't run up against a difficult opponent, I would agree with him. The run defense has made it look pretty easy against mediocre backs from LSU, GA, FL, etc. I'm sure what's his name from Clemson will be their first big test.

If you visit the Clemson boards looking for analysis to back up their talk, there isn't any. It's all just trash talk. Maybe it's a testament to playing in the ACC where outside of FlSt and occasionally Virginia Tech football is a second class sport. I'm hoping that on Monday night Clemson fans will receive an education about SEC football.

Agreed. There is an absence of solid analysis on the tigernet. Perhaps for a reason.
GamecockCentral does a better job and is quite funny to read.

Booger McFarland was on a radio show I was listening to this morning and he made the comment that you could go down to Bessemer High School and find some offensive lineman that are better than what Clemson has. LOL. I don't think that's true but I found it funny..

Analysts like Booger who played D can't seem to say enough good things about our D. I think they'd like to put on Crimson and get a few plays in. :)
