Remaining Recruits

Barton Simmons just CB'd Knott to Bama. Here is his explanation:

"I've had my Crystal Ball for Nigel Knott on Oregon for nearly a year now and I've been waiting for the dust to settle before switching up my pick. Today I picked Knott to Alabama. I know there have been some Crystal Balls coming in lately for Ole Miss but after talking to a few people, I still feel like Alabama is in the driver's seat. Ole Miss does a good job with kids that get on campus so this weekend will be something to watch but for now, I like Alabama."
 
Several are expecting a huge finish. Rumor of some big privately committed big fish reeled in to make Wednesday, possibly an unbelievable finish if true! Let's hope so.

Finish has been the football complex mantra, so let's see if it continues.
 
Coach Saban is always preaching about "finishing". That is exactly what he and the other asst. coaches are going to do for this recruiting year.
 
I'm not comfortable with how this thing is coming down the the end but we will just have to have faith that they have it under control.

I will say this, even before Freeze and his bank trucks full-0-money showed up at slaveowner U, the recruits we got from Mississippi often kept it very secret until signing day because apparently there is some sort of goon squad that will visit your family if you try to leave the state.

I'm all for keeping the Bama kids in state but more than that I'm "Merican" and I think everybody has a right to chase their dreams wherever they want.

You don't have to be comfortable if you don't want to be, but relax, as Coach Saban and this staff has this thing all but wrapped up (the staff is deciding on the final touches, not the kids)......and unless a few pull a Reid from a few years ago, we are all going to be very excited on Wednesday.

I knew he was being looked at, but from my reading and what I have heard, of the names on the penciled in list for this class, he was not one at that time. Interesting.

I know the number was around 28 that might be signed at one point.....if this is true with Smith, that number seems likely and possibly climbing based on all the names being thrown around being silent commits.

Can you imagine Cowherd and others if we sign 28 b/c we back filled with some of the early enrollees? We only signed 23 last year so we could fit at least 27 in the class.

Was 23 with or without Taylor? I cant remember and I am too lazy to go look. That is why I think it was up to 28 signees at one point to be taken.
