RIP to a good man. Enlisted in the Marine Corp during WW II and became the youngest drill instructor. He also founded an organization to promote thought development in high school students.

He also held the distinction of being the last person shot and killed by John Wayne in a movie...."The Shootist".

I'm of that certain age. Grew up on Earp, kit Carson, Roy Rogers, etc. shows depicted heroes and example of what a good man should be mixed in with a little riding and gunfire. Do the right thing was the subtle message. RIP sir.
