2017 Fall Camp Thread (Practice Reports and Press Conference Updates)

I am hoping that Robert Foster has his breakout year and rolls through the season injury free. What a positive impact it will make for the offense if Foster plays like he can. Having Ridley on one side and Foster on the other side will make things really difficult for the opposing defenses, both in the passing game and running game. I'm also hoping Derek Kief gets his shot and gets a fair amount of playing time his senior year. I think Kief has the ability to be that guy that can get the first down when needed. Time will tell. The offense has so much talent at WR. I'm excited about Daboll being the OC! Roll Tide!

I believe Derek is a junior, he redshirted in 2014.

Had to smile. This time last year I was holding my breath over the OC... :D

This is what I'm thinking too. If he was working with the WRs and really develops as a route runner...he is going to be FUN to watch this season.

I thought much the same. He sounds like a guy who will be a head coach some day. Maybe this will be the break he needs unlike some of the ill-equipped offensive rosters he led as an OC in the NFL.

Way to early for me to say this but IF he is a big success as OC here I could see him replacing Saban in the future. He is a Saban/Belichick guy so it would make a lot of sense from a culture standpoint.

I suspect the answer will come down to whether or not he enjoys recruiting.
 
Man, I hope we don't have another season of scheming around a weakness in the right OL. I sure had hoped to see some fresh faces step up...

Agreed. Although the consistency with who has been playing with the 1st team seems to be a plus. It looks to me like the only likely change would come at RT if Leatherwood develops quickly enough to start.
