The policy and politics of Trumpism

Anyway, this CDC stuff is appalling to me.

It's probably the most overtly Orwellian move he's made. Yet the ignorant and the apologists applaud.

I am pro-life. Or, I am against abortion. It would take too long to type out how I truly feel and a lot of it is yet still developing. Anyway, this CDC stuff is appalling to me.

Fair enough. My point is the only reason to ban "fetus" is for future anti abortion legal arguments. I'm sure they want them to use the word "child" instead so in a few years down the road they can point to the fact that the CDC refers to an unborn fetus as a child . Which isn't the correct scientific term. Is medical research on fetal health not important esp with all the issues lately like Zika and lead in tap water?

I caught that and agree you are probably correct. And I don't approve of it, either.

They want to turn us into a third-world country similar to the Middle East, just substitute Islam for Christianity, remove science, get rid of healthcare, get rid of education, and keep the wealth gap. Or maybe they want us to be more like China where workers sleep at the factories which have suicide nets around them.

If the Republicans can ride Trumpism and their Congress' "accomplishments" to victory in 2018, then, once again, I fear for the republic...

I fear that the republicans are screwing up so badly it will be a democratic landslide in 2018 and a super majority. I dont trust them much either.

Trump will be in the White House, so we will have the opposite situation as the latter Obama years. I prefer it to to lamebrained fiscal policy...

With only eight seats to defend and a 52-48 lead, I would have thought it would have been impossible for the Republicans to lose the Senate.

Then they nominated Roy Moore and lost a safe seat here. With open seats in Arizona and Tennessee and possibly a second race in Arizona, it could happen.

You know, if I had to come up with a motto for this gang which couldn't shoot straight, it would be "What, me worry?" Worrying about the future is definitely out of fashion...

Friendly reminder that Trump is the first U.S. president in modern history to refuse the release of his tax returns. Nothing to see there, obviously.

There should at least be some agency in the government that looks over all politicians tax returns to make sure they do not vote on bills that unfairly benefit them. I do not mind tax returns not being viewable by the entire public, but someone should be able to see them to keep politicians honest.
