With our remaining schedule, it isn't happening.


We could not afford to lose this one.

We play at Florida, at Mississippi State, at home against TN and LSU then at KY and at Auburn.

I see us going 1-5 in that stretch.
 
This one knocks us out of the tournament guranteed, NIT bound again.....Had real hopes for the team this season. They will be fortunate to get two wins the rest of the season. Hard to stomach especially with little sister looking at a possible 2 or 3 seed in the tourney. They are not that much better then Bama is , Bama even beat them they are way to inconsistent.

If Petty thought about leaving early he needs to rethink that. He has to work on moving with out the ball and dribble drive penetration.

Good thing is everything is still in front of us. Our goal is to get in the big dance and we are still on track to do that. This loss doesnt help but we have some strong wins on our resume. I promise you a top ranked team does not want to face this team. We do get up for the big games.

Unfortunately, I think you are right, and you definitely are if we play the way we did tonight. Done with it - tired of watching the same lackluster results and an NIT berth. Not worth the time spent.

Not even close to ending our tournament chances. We have 3 RPI top 10 wins, and a top 10 SOS. We will have to win one that we aren’t supposed to now. At TAMU will be probably be a must win, but to say that we are done is a giant exaggeration.

I would bet the farm that's not happening. We win after losses. We win 3 out of the next 6 we are in. My prediction We beat Florida and State. Tn is a toss up We beat LSU lose to KY and probably Auburn.

You are 100% correct. I would add that we must get a road win or two. Heard Jerry Palm say on Monday if we want to leave no doubt win @ UF & TAMU. I think the magic number is 20 wins.

This was also a case of a bad matchup. Look at our losses. All of the teams that we have lost to play a methodical, slow paced type of game. Those teams also have good or above average bigs that can put rebound us and shut down the dribble drive. This is when we have to knock down shots, which we couldn’t do tonight. Had some open looks and couldn’t knock them down. We have to try to speed the game up against teams like this. I wanted us to press early in the game to try to control the tempo. We just don’t matchup well with teams that have solid bigs.

Petty wouldn't get drafted, and it would be doubtful that he could make a European team with his lack of other development. He needs at LEAST one more year to develop the things you mentioned, plus add some weight and muscle. His body is not ready either.

Bama had 11 turnovers to 19 for UM but still didn't matter. Missed 11 free throws. Could not hit open shots late. Aaargh!

UM fouled a lot and got called for many but still grabbed and bumped ball handlers all game long.
 
I’m very frustrated with this loss, however I am not surprised one bit. This was a classic letdown situation. It was almost too predictable with a young team and playing against a team that doesn’t give you the opportunity to run and gun like this team really wants to.
