Then Clemenza garrottes Urban.:eek2:I think it happened like this.
Friday night, Urban Meyer calls his old chum Saban.
Urban: Hey Nick, they're really coming down on me in the press. I could use you as a foil again. They love to hate you.
Nick: You have to answer for Courtney, Urban. You fingered Zach Smith for the press.
Urban: Nick, ya got it all wrong....
Nick: Ah, that little farce you played with the text messages? You think you're fooling me?
Urban: Nick, I'm innocent. I swear on the kids.
Saban: Just shut up. Miles is out of the conference. So are Richt. Nutt. Sumlin. Chizik. For that matter, so are you. I've settled all family business, but don't you dare tell me you're innocent. Admit what you did. Only don't tell me that you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and it makes me very angry. Now, who approached you first? Barzini or Tattaglia?
Meyer: It was Barzini.
Saban: Ok, that's what I wanted to know. I'm gonna get you out of the news. After we win tomorrow, I'll over-react to whatever question they ask. The press, especially that chrome dome who looks like a used car salesman, will talk about how rude I am. Lacking any sense of proportion, I'll push you right out of the news. And then - just to show I'm the bigger man - I'll apologize.
Urban: Oh, thanks Coach.
Saban: Don't ever call me again the night before a game. Ever. (Click).
I'm sure he would like to ignore them; however, he is forced to talk to them. So, he is forced to talk to them; they ask ridiculous questions; and they go nuts if they aren't treated with the utmost sensitivity even though the questions they ask are never required to be sensitive, which is what Saban was pointing out. It is a great example of hypocrisy, which is the norm in the USA these days. Some people are allowed to be hateful bullies and criminals, but if their feelings get hurt, everyone owes them an apology or a huge settlement in court. Anyway, Saban apologized and we move on. Roll Tide!Yeah, I don't think media obligations extend to embracing their posteriors to appease them................he should just walk off next time and ignore them
"Ok, let's go to the callers...................Tammy, down in Auburn, what do you have for us?"Finebaum is not one to be judging class.
Apparently Stephen A smith must have missed when Finebaum tried to take on Saban about the Jonathan Taylor fiasco. It didn't go so well for Finebaum.Lol so First Take wants Paul Finebaum to interview Saban from now on.
I think team performance and body language already confirmed that there is an issue. I think they were obviously unbalanced emotionally when Jalen was in there. I think they showed more confidence when Jones was filling in. He knows it!Peter Burns:
"Saban answered the question to Maria Taylor post game that way because he knows Tua is the guy but doesn't want locker room to be divided,"Burns wrote on Twitter. "That answer was delivering a message to his team, not Maria or the audience. Not a good look, but frankly Saban couldn't care less."
There is nothing "Politically Correct" about being nice and acting like a gentleman towards a woman. In fact, a while back it was thought of that you should do that in every situation in the South. So, instead of everybody talking about the QB's, they are talking about the Coach. That's probably the way Coach Saban wanted it.
He wasn't being politically correct in communicating his response. That is okay with me. Now, he could say, he had talked to Mrs. Terry
and that's what she told him to do post-game, but he didn't want to throw Mrs. Terry under the team bus. So, he's taking the HEAT and the focus
is not on the players. I'm sure he's been in the kitchen a lot and knows how to handle the heat!

It really doesn't cost anything to be nice, and the rewards can be unimaginable. ~ Coach Paul

I agree that you treat a lady like a lady, but she did ask a question that got under coach's skin. And I do like that reporter a lot. great reporter who ask TOUGH questions. She handled the situation very professionally. I only wish it could have been Finebaum asking that question.
And if you read his story he regretted that interview and made sure that he didn't do that again. CNS does this on a regular basis.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTVvKHvSp_o
Uhhhhhhh lol
Bear wasn't always a fan of the media either.
Considering that he only coached 1 more game I don’t think it was hard to make sure he didn’t do it again. And if you read his story he regretted that interview and made sure that he didn't do that again. CNS does this on a regular basis.
