Rodney Orr was on the radio in Tuscaloosa this morning and said that Najee didn’t get the NFL grade back that he wanted. He said that he would still lean towards him going but as of last night, Najee was still weighing all his options.
Rodney said that the Advisory Committee recommended that Najee, Devonta Smith and Leatherwood return to school.

Well, 2 of the 3 listened. what say you Najee?

I'm guessing he got a 3rd round grade....

What I do find odd is how many I see have Swift as a 1st rounder...... I'd take Najee over Swift 7 days/week
I wouldn't - Swift is a typical NFL RB - he could plug into any offense and have success without them changing anything. Najee is a great RB, but he needs holes to run through (think Henry).

I would love to see Najee play TE in the NFL. He is a freakishly good receiver.

When do they actually do the grades because that would matter? Najee kicked DONKEY the last 3 games. I know this is a LOADED RB class which is probably why they said wait. Teams just look at RB differently in today's NFL.

They do them after the player requests them, but his would have been done before the Citrus bowl.

I think you’re exactly right.

I get what you are saying but I think Swift has a better game for the NFL. Najee seems to be north and south type runner and unless you have a incredible offensive line, it doesn’t translate well in the league. Swift has moves to make people miss and you have to have that in the league. He plants and changes direction better than Najee too.

I think they are thinking Swift's explosivness will translate well to the next level. If Najee plays like he did the last few games I think he has Derrick Henry type upside. Both will do well but Swift isnt a first round pick in this generation's NFL. I won't be surprised if Taylor is the only back taken in the first round this year.

When you have Taylor, Etienne, and Swift all in the same class its loaded. The draft board probably correctly thinks he can get a MUCH higher pick in next year's draft because he'll likely be the leader of it. I doubt there are 5-6 teams that need a RB so badly that they'll spend a 1st or 2nd rd pick on it. I bet 3rd Rd is about where he'd go.

I would be pleasantly SHOCKED if Najee Harris returned. Outside of REALLY wanting to win a NC. He has nothing else to gain by staying. As good as Harris is in our eyes. I'm not sure the NFL folks view him the same way. The NFL loves RB's like Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley. They have the rare combination of power, speed, shiftiness, quickness AND are excellent receivers. Harris isn't the type RB that gets taken in the first round of today's NFL.

I would be shocked if Najee came back regardless of grade or whoever else goes out. A running back only has so many YAC yards in him, and it never surprises me when they leave early. They pretty much all do.

Beside that, we just signed three guys. Add them to Trey, the two Robbies, and Ford and that's seven guys on scholarship. If Najee did come back I could see at least one and maybe two of those other guys leaving.

I hope these tweener types look at what Taysom Hill has done with the Saints. Be OPEN to what these coaches tell you because that might change your life for the BETTER. I'm betting Tim Tebow had accepted Sean Payton's offer now. He wanted to try him in the exact role that Hill is doing so well at, but TT insisted he was an "NFL QB"!

Agreed. I'm not sure NH can ever achieve that can't miss 1st round talent level regardless. RBs like him and MI and DH are playing for that 2nd contract.

Harris is one that I’m really hoping for. Robinson and Co haven’t really shown that they can be the #1 guy. I also think you’ll see a more traditional ground based attack next year. Najee and Sanders should give you more of what Bama has had in the past.
