Scott Cochran is Leaving for Georgia

I’m just hoping CSC didn’t get a peek at our recruiting board on his way out the door.....

I would hope Scott Cochran's character and loyalty to Bama all these years would override his desire to be a back stabber like Kirby apparently has been. It all boils down to a person's character, integrity, and faith. I know he and Kirby are good friends though, and Kirby will do just about anything to beat Bama.

I’m not going to bash him, best of luck. I’m sure the deciding factor was to continue his escalation to on the field.

the over-the-top reactions by the Bulldogs fans (they seemed to think a championship is guarantee and Nick is done at least that what the folks on Finebaum seem to think) is hilarious to me. Sucks to lose Cochran, but I don't see him impact the Dawgs, the same way he impact Bama. GA will still be GAing themselves in big games, and Dawgs fans will go back to the drawing board.

Look you guys need a cathartic lightening rod to focus you're ire. I'm your guy! ;)

Is Herby right in his comment? I didn't answer that point, just posted his comment. Personally, I don't think this is a sign of Bama's decline - not by a long shot. If anything I think it makes CNS even more determined to prove people like Herbstreit wrong. Saban has an uncanny way of rallying the troops.

It was just last year (2019) that Herby and the gang on Gameday were making the passive aggressive comments blaming CSC and his old style training methods for Bama’s rash of Injuries. Now its a Flowbee coup! Wow! I guess you can have it both ways!

Might be one of the reasons he wasn't allowed to say goodbye...…...…...someone might have covered the big board before he came in. That's pretty much the only way Flowbee knows who Saban is after unless he polls recruits to see if Bama offered

I wish I had a nickel for every time Saban has been "done" and UGA was going to win it all this year...…………….I could probably retire

Just saw where Alphose Taylor says Cochran does have coaching experience...………..I don't recollect him ever coaching on the field

Dude has never been an on the field coach and Kirby gives him the reigns to a full 1/3 of the game? As ticked off as I was when I heard the news earlier, now I say good riddance and don’t let the door hit you on the rear, and oh hey, good luck with all that, Coach Bowl Cut.

I get pay raises, career advancement, and competition. But there is something to be said for loyalty, even still in today’s cut throat world. I’ve already come to terms with Kirbs being a snake. Hate it turned out this way with Cochran.

Cochran, however, yearned for more, and Smart saw fit to give him the opportunity that Saban would not.
Even after all those years Cochran spent managing and developing the Alabama players in the offseason, and all that energy he brought to the sideline, Saban couldn’t see fit to give Cochran an opportunity to advance his career.

I could say the same about Kirby not letting players transfer to play for a coach they knew...………….while he was underhandedly recruiting one of Bama's players. The Dawg fans have some pretty interesting double standards

Maybe it was because he didn't have a position for him...……......the staff is set, so who was Saban supposed to fire to give him a position?

DAAAAAAAAAMMMNNNNN! dawgs just won the SUPERBOWL over on Dawgnation! Scotty was a great coach, but he was S&C coach with the New Orleans Hornets basketball team when Nick Found him. Nick will find another. I mean He found Scott, Jimbo, Will, Jeremy, KIRBY, Mark, ....and the list goes on!

BTW , DawgByte is at it again over there, posting a link to this thread! He needs to stay in Flowbee land!

Scott and Kirby will both be looking for a new job in a couple of years !

I don't know. Dawg fans are pretty content with "almost" and "we'll be better next year." I think they can ride that wave for several years to come. I doubt this is going to turn out like the die hards are trumpeting, however.

I don't want to act like losing Cochran doesn't sting. But I think it's ludicrous to believe you taking a guy who is really good at a thing, and putting him over something he's never been a part of before is a great thing that's going to turn out wonderfully. I think its moronic, actually.

Not surprised...…………….he likes to stir things up, while acting all innocent. He will be back soon to brag again

Kirby was less interested in getting a great ST coach than pulling Cochran away from Alabama.

I enjoyed having Cochran here. He was fun. He was a good S&C coach. It is unknown at this time if his methods were what we needed the last few years or if someone else can do a better job. We shall see.
