Question: If you could erase one play in Alabama Football history...what would it be?

I "know" about that play, but I was four years old. Hell, I was probably watching it - but no, I don't remember it. It would depend - my Dad was an alcoholic at the time, and the folks used to go party and leave us kids with a sitter on New Year's Eve.

2011 vs LSU regular season - that Eric Reid interception that should have been a touchdown.

If we make that, that team's name is repeatedly up there with the great teams of all-time.

SInce 90% of the responses probably will either be the kick six, the Clemson pick plays, or some other recent Auburn game... Ill go with La Tech scoring to go ahead of us in 1999. The 1999 team deserved better than what they had on the sideline.

Funny story about this.

The night before, I took my 9-month old son to his first Braves game. In fact, we were on the board at Turner Field because he was selected Jr Brave of the Game. The next day, we went outlet mall shopping in Opelika and Montgomery on our way home. We talked about going to the game - I'd never been to a Tide home game at that point in time - but we passed.

We were maybe 3 miles from my house and in front of the church I had attended as a young guy 10 years earlier. I had figured we'd lose the way it was going, but when we got them in fourth down with a backup, I thought we might escape with a win. When Stallworth hit Cangelosi with that ball for the TD, I began pounding the steering wheel in a rage and shouting all matter of things which I needed to confess.

It was very therapeutic.

I've always thought what would have been better is this:
1) Auburn misses the bomb to Ricardo Louis that beats UGA; we're SEC champs when we beat MSU
2) Auburn beats us on The Play That Shall Not Be Mentioned
3) Saban takes his angry team and blows Missouri off the field like the New Madrid fault.
4) Then with a month to prepare, he ram rods Winston, and we're the first ever three-peat.

Auburn is happy, they beat us.
We're even happier because we won what mattered.

The state would be in Nirvana harmony.

I think it’s interesting that no one has actually chosen Kick Six yet. I think it is Indelible in our memory banks....we tried to forget but CBS played it so many times like a bad dream.

That play hurt more than any other for me, but I didn't pick it because the game was still very much in doubt if you stop the return. Alabama was playing like absolute crap that day. A loss was still very possible in OT.

I think you are right...that’s the way I remember it too. We were not dominant at all.

The 4th and 50 (or so) Auburn pass in the 2013 DSOR that the UGA DB attempted to intercept , and bounced off his chest for a barn TD. Knock the ball down and UGA gets the ball 50 yards up the field, and Bama wins the NC. Play in IB that will not be mentioned would have been imaterial.

Well, as 81 pointed out....it's kind of an "obvious" choice in some ways.

The problem, though, is that:
a) the game was tied, it's not like we were ahead
b) a non-returned field goal simply means overtime
c) the way we were playing, we would have lost anyway
d) even if we win - we had 2 more games to win to stake our claim

By contrast - you can pick PLENTY of plays in the Clemson game for the 2016 season that if just one goes our way, we're champions.
