Yep..but that player made a very good play. Kinda baited Jalen. The throw looked like it was perfect. I think he might not have seen him.
His arm was hit by a rusher and could not follow through on the throw causing a wounded duck. And; DB made a great effort on the catch

I saw it on replay so I am sure you guys are correct. Sometimes I dont see things when plays are coming fast😁
You aren't the only one. I have to watch the game several times to catch few things that I didn't initially see first time. Like for instance, NOBODY NOTICED that Sark tried few new wrinkles in playcalling in the game against LSU

Jalen is now starting for the Eagles and surely can't play any worse than Carson Wentz
I think most people here know I believe in Jalen's talents, but I do have concerns. It reminds me a bit of his true freshman season at Alabama, where he was asked to play too early in my opinion considering he still needed development as a passer. He didn't do bad, he was SEC Offensive Player of the Year, but I always felt like the situation hurt his development because he made some bad habits just trying to make plays out there.

This carried over into the next season and didn't start to get fixed until the following one. In his second season I felt like he regressed some. It wasn't until he was on the bench and the pressure was off that he took the leap forward developmentally (people might remember he even looked shaky in his third A-Day game).

To quote a guy on ESPN: "Not doing Jalen Hurts a whole lot of favors". Great that he's starting, but I'd prefer he get a year of being coached in that offense. I know some QBs are arriving NFL ready, but his development as a passer has always lagged a bit so I hope things go well but we shall see.

I agree that Jalen is more of a project QB, somebody that needs developing but the Eagles had to make a move because Wentz is broken and it's affecting the team, he's lost the locker room imo. When Hurts came in he provided a spark to the team and it was clear that he was a more competent QB than Carson Wentz right now. Honestly I wish Hurts were somewhere else because the Eagles are in a bad place right now but I hope he shows out.

I’m happy for Jalen. I wish it would have worked out better for Alabama, but, it did work out better for Jalen that he got to go to OU. And I do still claim him. He put a lot more time in for Alabama than OU, which was opposite for Burrow as far as Ohio State/LSU. Of course OU can claim him as well, and Lincoln Riley. That doesn’t bother me in the least.

I don’t know enough about Wentz, but it seems the Eagles and Pederson failed him somewhat, and I hope the same doesn’t happen to Hurts.

All in all, I am happy he has proven worthy of this, and I hope for nothing but the best for his career.

I imagine, if it goes well at all, that it could end up being more like Lamar Jackson in 2018 than anything else. He's going to have to run for his life.

Thrilled that Jalen gets to start. Doubt he retains that position long-term. He's never been an accurate QB and his tendencies are too easily tracked. However, he will make better decisions than Wentz and his legs give them an option they weren't getting before. Wouldn't surprise me if the team plays better than they have been off the bat but I think the path to Jalen retaining the position long-term is slim. All the same, I hope he proves me wrong and starts throwing darts, hitting his sideline passes, and breaks tendencies on his scrambling to utterly confound defenses and coordinators alike!

I'll gladly take a whole plate of crow because I never saw this happening 3 years ago.

But that doesn't mean I haven't been rooting for Jalen to succeed.

I watched every single game he played for OU and I can't wait to watch his 1st start for Philly.

Jalen is a class act and will always be a 'Bama player all the way for me.

G'ON JALEN!!!!!

I OWE JALEN AN APOLOGY.

I remember in the midst of his struggles at Alabama that I boldly proclaimed he would never throw a pass in the NFL. It was probably foolish considering some of the very poor college QBs that have not only made it to the league but started for some franchises. But it was also said when Jalen had trouble standing in the pocket and hitting the broadside of a barn.

But his progression has been amazing. Probably the best thing to ever happen to him was to lose his job to Tua and, instead of sulking he went to work and it paid off in the next year's SECCG. He only got better (more experienced at OK).

I'm so happy to see his hard work and great attitude are about to get rewarded.

I don't think Gmac ever started, I think he was supposed to start a game and ended up getting hurt. McCarron's only had the one opportunity and acquitted himself well but lost out to Allen in the Bills camp. I believe he was also injured during that competition and is now a career backup. It's kind of sad because there have been many teams in the last 3 years that had absolute GARBAGE at QB. AJ would have been way better than that, but still he's holding the clipboard in Houston. So aside from the brief moment for McCarron we've spent 30 years waiting for a starter and this weekend we will have 2. what a time to be alive

He doesn't have nearly Jackson's running skills and Balt has designed an offense to take advantage of those skills, not so in Phil. Reading the field and pulling the trigger has always been Jalen's biggest hurdle - he has a very fine arm, much better than Jackson's. He is going to be shoved into a more conventional NFL offense, though I think they may use some RPO, idk. In terms of his passing development, Jalen's timing has been unfortunate thus far in his football career. As do all Bama fans, I wish him the best.

I think that Jalen had a lot of fun out there in Norman. He seemed to enjoy that Offensive system. Was another learning experience for him. That is an important part on anybody's resume. Jalen will adapt. Strong kid. A player. Willing to bring it😉
