Baseball was my first love.
From a fan perspective, I LOVE the pace of baseball (sans all the stupid game delaying stuff players, coaches, umpires, and networks do). I like watching it much more than even football - probably because I'm stressed the whole game :D I love that I can sit down and listen to baseball (or watch it) and read a book at the same time. I love the history of the game. I love the stats that go back 150 years. I always marvel when something happens that's the first time in 100 years or in the live-ball era or ever.

I hate the new "let's make it faster by changing the rules" stuff. If they really wanted to make it faster, they would limit reviews to 1 minute and make them be requested at max 1x per game per team. I also hate the taunting that goes on by batters. The guys that do it should be beaned in the noggin. The pitchers that do it should be thrown at the next time they're at bat. If they're in the junior AL circuit, then throw at the DH. Sorry, that's how I feel. (and I don't like taunting in ANY sport).

One of the bad things, too, is that baseball's drop has largely been not so much their product as the fact PEOPLE have changed and need some sort of a quick dopamine rush, the immediate shot in the arm. Baseball provides it, but it is more of a symphony that builds towards that moment.

People want their quick fixes now.

The only “pace” rule that I like is the 3 batter minimum because at times the 3 pitchers in an inning for 3 different batters prolonged the game for no reason. I think the 3 batter minimum actually makes the decision more strategic and actually improves the game. All the others should be done away with.

@selmaborntidefan is Toronto officially the “my dad was a great baseball player” team.
Well, the Big Red Machine had:
Pete Rose
Ken Griffey Sr
Pedro Borbon Sr
Hal McRae
Tony Perez

whose kids all made the majors, although Pete Jr. wasn't very good at all.

Of course, that's the opposite of what you mean, too. Yeah, they've gotta be.

Dante Bichette was good.
Craig Biggio was a Hall of Famer.
Vlad, too.
