Games That Felt "Rigged" By Suspiciously Convenient Calls

This was a not so classic one.

Brought from this site: https://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2367146/posts

Beano Cook pointed out several years ago that Penn State used to quite literally have refs cheat for them. That is such a radical statement I was surprised he said it on national TV.
He showed a particular play in which an Alabama receiver caught a game winning TD pass. The ref ruled him out of bounds and he must have been six feet inside the line.
It turned out the ref who made that call had a Son playing For Penn State.
This is not correct. Mike Guman's uncle (he was on the 78 team) was the field judge, and he signaled touchdown. It was Jack O'Rourke who screwed us. I'm willing to say the call was bad, but I'm not willing to say it's because "a guy for Penn State called it" when he didn't.

The 'kick six " game. AJ McCarron was in another world that day or the kick six would have never happened. He played stellar all year but not this game. The "rig" was up in the stands as AJ's girl friend.......... his mind was definitely in the stands. And, AJ proved that after the game. As leader of the team he should have ran to his teammates to be with them after that shock but instead he ran to the muffin in the stands.
We lost that game because we had the worst OC in the Saban era, and not because it was rigged.

2) 1972 Olympic Basketball: USA vs USSR

If you even know what I'm talking about, you know that this felt a lot like the game above did. It's a whole lot easier to rig a basketball game outcome (because there's so much stoppage and the fouls are shady in the first place) than, say, a baseball game. The only thing you can do on a baseball game that's obvious is have an insanely wide strike zone. I'll get to that in a moment.
With this one, I swear, some GI must have stolen this guy's girlfriend. I have since met some Brits who have such a chip on their shoulders about Americans, but this guy took the cake. An unbelievable miscarriage of justice.
I've seen that the US players have forbidden their descendants from ever accepting a silver medal from the Olympic Committee.

The pass interference no call Saints v Rams 2018 NFC championship game. NFL wanted the LA Rams in the SB and more importantly, the league didn’t want the saints in it.

Obviously (to me), the DB knew he had been beaten, so why not interfere and not give up the TD? I have no idea what the official was thinking when NOT throwing that flag.
And I'm not emotionally invested in the NFL, and certainly not New Orleans, but, man, that one was awful.

Such professional integrity by the olympics.
Yeah, but then the USA blasting Ben Johnson off the planet while Carl Lewis played the hypocrite and was just as dirty. But, hey, we're the US! Rules don't apply to US!

Any game Alabama loses.
This thread has several where Bama was robbed. Trying to think of one where we won on dubious calls. Nothing extreme comes to mind, but UGA fans have a point that in the 2018 NCG, when we went three and out and punted on Tua's first possession and the punt was blocked, the offsides call on UGA was a bad call. If that play had stood that game might have turned out differently. Not in the same category as the really horrible calls mentioned in this thread though.

meh. If you are an idiot to try to block a kick with a running start before pre snap then you run that risk.

If any Georgia fan would suggest that the 2018 NCG game was rigged in Bama's favor I'd offer this play as proof that it wasn't. Did Mecole Hardman really score on this play?
