I am not going to dwell on specifics, except to say we got beat everywhere except the scoreboard, This is not a NC team, but can still will 12+ games.
At this point, Bama is a work in progress...............I think deep down we all kinda knew it, but I think we may well be in it at the end. Just need to get to work and get things fixed

After thinking about it, I really think today’s performance was more indicative of where we are at as a team right now than how great Florida is. Biggest areas of concern to me are the D, the Oline, and Bryce’s decision-making/mechanics on pass/RPO plays. Seems like he excessively lofts the ball many times when he instead needs to throw a dart or hard and low like on a slant play, and vice versa. The Oline play though disappointing is in line with my expectations. The play of the D though is disappointing to say the least. Overall I think we have the potential to vastly improve but right now if I had to project based on current performance and the schedule then I’d say we’re headed to a 10-2 type season similar to 2010 or 2019.

I think something to keep in mind is BY isn't stepping into the starter role with three years of college under his belt either, like Mac was able to do. He is still an underclassman with very, very limited playing time last season as a FR. So for him to go into the Swamp and do what he did, is simply amazing. He proved he has the "metal" of a championship quarterback. Could you imagine Mac Jones being the starter quarterback in this game as a true sophomore? There's a chance it would have been a complete disaster.

Today was a great win for this young team.

I could not agree more...the youngness really came out today. I was just amazed that we were manhandled on the LOS. BY is coming along but needs a good support cast.

I'm not worried about the offense - I think if they remain focused they can score on anyone.

I am worried about the defense, which is returning a ton of experience and is in year four under our DC yet seems to lack fundamentals - is often out of position or taking wrong angles, even lacks leverage at times. These are all coaching issues.

I haven’t read the previously 12 pages of posts, so please forgive any redundancy.

We were awesome for 15 minutes. The remaining 45, we were hanging on.

It wouldn’t bother me so much if it were a function of developing offense. But it wasn’t.

For the final 3 quarters, we got manhandled in the LOS. Really on both sides, but especially our DL vs. their OL. We simply had no answers, and Florida could run at will.

The real play of the game was the Florida PK missing the XP. If he doesn’t miss that, Florida ties it up with 3 minutes to go, and we have to get points in regulation. Because I promise you, if it had gone into OT, there’s about a 90% chance we lose.

We were outplayed and outcoached for 75% of today’s game. This team, as it sits today, is not a championship team.

One of two things will happen: We will get better on both sides of the LOS, especially the DL, or we will lose one or more games that cost us a ring.

I was impressed with Bryce’s poise in the pocket but it did almost get him in trouble at times as well. I agree with those who have said the staff maybe trying to protect him by keeping him from running a ton. The running game will improve with time but the good thing is our pass protection has been fairly good with two teams with an all out blitz scheme.

If the excuse for the defense is we got tired and they scored why not rotate more. I mean it doesn’t matter if the second team gets scored on if the first team is going to allow it due to exhaustion. I’m not sure if the plan was to play contain for the QB but we didn’t generate a ton of pressure. This will be key down the stretch if we want to make it to the playoffs.

No doubt, the bad angles, not getting off blocks, wrong reads, etc, are coaching issues. I didn't see anywhere near as many obvious bad defensive calls as we saw in Golden's first season. I think he has improved on WHAT TO CALL, but there are definitely some coaching issues on tackling, getting off blocks and just fundamental "stuff". But I would have to believe Golden isn't the only one coaching the defense on tackling, taking right angles, getting off blocks. Crap rolls down hill and those under Golden aren't doing their jobs either.

Im the opposite. Offensive play calling after the 3rd series was horrendous. If we go up 28-3 Florida would have folded and we aren’t complaining about anything right now.

Speaking of Pruitt… the last time he was on the Bama sideline vs a Mullen coached team he gave up nearly 200 yards on the ground and we needed a last minute touchdown to win…..

We've been spoiled. We all saw what happened to Mac down at Auburn in 2019. And even then he played a hell of a game outside the two ints.

But it's not just QB. None of our WRs are up to the level of the past 3 years. They're good, and can play winning football, but they aren't the first round draft picks we've had. Not yet anyway.

Nor are the RBs quite to the level we grew used to with Najee, Jacobs, and even Damien. I think they can get there though.

There is just a lot of youth, or even with veterans, they don't have a ton of time in big time games when the game is on the line.
