True..............but there is no excuse for the play we are seeing, or the coaching. Saban is the GOAT, but even a GOAT needs to make changes. Golding is NOT a boy genius............I wonder at times if he shouldnt be just an LB coach
He'll no! Our linebackers have been sub-standard since he has been coaching them. Golding just needs to go!

CNS really has some soul searching to do. There is little question these coordinators need find the unemployment line. There also need to a complete re-evaluation of the entire staff as well.
Then there need to be a reevaluation of recruiting. Are we missing in terms of guys we *think are a fit or are we simply not developing them?
If it IS one, both or all of the above, then the big question CNS has to ask is “does he have patience and the energy to tear things down and start again?. The foundation for championship will alway be there. However, the roof has a bunch of holes and is leaking severely.
I’ve said it several times the past two years. Coach Saban looks tired and frustrated.
My guess is he realizes he made a monumental mistake keeping Petey and Bobby Boy on staff. They both look like their knuckles should drag the ground and drool out the side of their mouths.

Anyone calling for Saban to retire or saying he doesn’t have it anymore needs to put the bottle down and sober up. He’s the goat and the same things win that have always won. We have two coordinators pooping the bed and a team that’s spiraling. If we fix those two positions we don’t have to be the most talented. We just gotta get back to being competent and salty. This team acts like they won just by showing up and when the other team socks em in the mouth they go on tilt.

Do we not employ sports psychologists anymore?
If he doesn't make changes then what is your assessment . Mine is he's done. Maybe two years to go.

A 5 point lead you are beat when they score a touchdown. A 6 point lead gives you a chance. Coach probably new LSU would score again. Everybody on here is bashing Golding so Saban knew it too that we may give up another touchdown.
That really makes no sense. Blocking an XP is one of the most low percentage plays that one can make in the game. There was always a much higher chance that if LSU scored a TD there would be at least enough time on the clock to go down far enough to kick a FG.

claiming we wanted 2 so we could block an XP and still be tied is simply rationalizing a poor decision imo.

I question whether we have talent or if we have “phantom” talent? I’m reminded of the Dubose - Cottrell era where guys we recruited were ranked high because we recruited them so we could win recruiting day with most points. Given what I see at numerous positions we may have something similar going on. That or our evaluation skills have dramatically diminished in last 3 years. I still think this team and coach combo has the lowest football IQ in the Saban era.

I do wonder if we lost whoever our best WR scout was. We seemed to always hit on WRs and now it's come to s screeching halt?

Why would you not spy the QB. I was dumbfounded, but I guess I shouldn't be.
We spied the QB. Wasn’t the same guy every play, most of the time it seemed like Moody had that responsibility. Which made no sense, being he is the slowest guy not a down lineman. We started in zone with everyone’s eyes on the QB. As they started making plays downfield, we switched to more combo and man.

I know everyone is saying going for two is stupid but the first time it would have put us up by 3. The second time it would have put us up by 6 and that would have at least given us a chance at a desperation block of an extra point to keep the game tied. When you look back on it it is stupid but that is what the sheet says do in games.
Also, 6 points would keep two late field goals from beating you. I am not a fan of playing these point games until later in the 4th quarter though.

I honestly think the talent is there, I just don't think it's being utilized properly. That's one reason I harp on Golding so much. This defense returned a lot of key guys. They have depth, they have first round NFL talent, they have arguably the best defensive player Saban has ever had. The individual parts are there. You'd think they could have improved over last season because there's no reason to believe the same guys would get worse from one year to the next.

They're just not being used properly. It's like someone building something out of Legos and they're just not making it structurally sound. They have all the parts they need, they're just not using them correctly.

Honestly, if I were Bryce, I might not play another down this year. He’s proven enough by keeping this squad afloat.
Don’t think he is that kind of guy. From a personal perspective I guess it makes rational sense. I want the team to keep playing and winning this season but realistically the season is over and there is nothing to play for but pride.

I’m honestly curious how bad his injury is because it showed up badly tonight. Doesn’t matter what type of injury it is, at some point every injury needs legitimate rest to heal.

Lol. Kind of difficult to be a mod if you’re not watching the game. Lord.
Dude I'm on the road most weekends. This was THE FIRST game I've actually gotten to watch live. The rest I've had to watch "replay" during the week and most of my moderation time is during the week. My lane is full, I don't need anyone else in it. (y) :coffee:

I believe we do need new coordinator's, it's obvious, but we are so undisciplined it's ridiculous, and as far as watching the Tide play I want us to win always but I'd watch if we we're 0-11! And we still have a puncher's chance to get to Atlanta, beat Ole Miss and LSU lose to Arkansas and ATM, keep the faith
