we will never know why Saban has kept Golding so long. It is baffling to watch the defense full of hugely talented players seem to go brain dead at critical points during games.

Who’s to say he isn’t? I mean c’mon, do really believe Saban’s not seething internally over how this season has played-out? Are you looking for him to publicly call coaches or players out? I just don’t understand the assumption that he isn’t holding everyone within the program to a certain standard, especially given his fairly well documented track record of success.

I’m sorry but to me this take is entitlement in its purest form. As a fan we have no control over anything, yet we expect a certain outcome because we just want it to be so.
Look. We know coach isn’t going to publicly call out individuals whether it be assistants or players. The only way we will know he is making changes is by what players lose playing time and what coaches are gone at the end of the year.

Why are you moving the goalposts? I haven’t said “Saban isn’t working on it” or “Saban is unaware of it”, I’m simply saying what most everyone who knows any thing about the sport recognizes- this team lack discipline and the coordinators are hindering the team, not helping.

if objeectivly pointing out failures is ‘entitlement’ then I don’t know why a discussion forum even exists.

You know by reading some comments on here I'm disappointed, I admit we need new coordinator's but to say Coach needs to go baffles me, we sound like other fan bases, I've had friends tell me you'll turn on him when things don't go right, looks like we have
I really admire CNS. He and I are about same age, and I can't imagine his daily regimen. I think a man grows older whether he wants to or not. He still 'goes off like he always did..but yet some things are not corrected because he does. Just my observation of a guy I watched years ago and now...and me imagining what I might do or say. Alabama Head Coach is not a job for just any coach as we all know. Very similar to 1982 to me.

I remember CPB saying :I'll never teach pass blocking again". I'm not saying CNS is there, but a some point you say enough, I'm going to play with the grandbabies.

I remember a comment Saban made when hired. Something to the effect of “I want to be a team that other teams hate to play because we’re so tough“. That has definitely slipped in the last few years. We aren’t as physical but I also think one of the reasons is targeting.

The new rules are being applied to players who didn’t grow up learning to tackle like that. It’s going to take a number of years of young players (and coaching) learning different tackling techniques without targeting worries. It’s a big change in the sport and one I don’t see talked about nearly enough. Great tackles 5 years ago are now personal fouls and/or ejections.

It's BOB and his scheme. Nobody was really open most of the time last night.

Golding went away from what was working and didn't adjust especially in 4th. Now then again, players wasn't focused in 4th and ot.
I have seen where people have posted that the offensive playbook is the same as it always has been, but that is not true. It is very different. It looks an awful lot like the texans playbook in every way.

Also, I would like to see our players tackle and not try to rip the ball out.

It must be in the playbook also to run the clock down inside 5 seconds every play also making a lineman stay in his stance and in my opinion causing some of these false starts.
