Question: We've seen CNS light up Gol*ing a few times on the sidelines the past couple of years.

Has he lit into BOB like that? Could it be a factor that BOB is closer to his age?

I'd kinda like to see OLD CNS has a younger OC that he could light up a few times a game when they do something stupid. But BOB is in the box drinking diet coke with his hat turned backward like he's out on a Sunday drive. Don't get it.
He can't get into his face because he's in the booth, O'Brien, not on the sidelines, of which I think he should be...! Most all of the past good OC's have been on the field...

Definitely Riley as OC would be my first call. Young, innovative play caller. If not him then definitely Phil Longo

As far as DC, my first call would be to Glenn Schumann. He graduated from here and was here for 8 years (last 2 as Director of Player Development and Associate Director of Player Personnel). Co-DC at Georgia now, and if that doesn't work, kick tires on Jim Leonhard and see if he's interested in moving south
Riley, as in the Head Coacha @ USC?

thats just your opinion. Didn’t Coach Saban de

saban dropped down to Alabama. A lateral move. DeMeco seems like a coach that wants to mentor young men. He seems to be a great person and genius with Defense X and Os. I am sure he will not come but I would call him after the Auburn game and test the waters. He is from Alabama.
I don't know if he'd be interested, but he's one of those guys that I'd make tell me no, rather than just assuming he was on the NFL life track.

Let's be careful with the "Bama boy" thing. That got us Mike Dubose, Mike Shula, and at one point was threatening to get us Bobby Sherrill. Let's get some winners, regardless of their pedigree.
I agree with your point. It has to be a good hire, but having Bama connections could make it a even better hire.

Know I`m off subject, but since it`s been mentioned......What is the purpose of wearing a cap backwards anyway? I WILL say that I do turn mine backwards at the shooting range because the bill hits the scope....but otherwise,,,,why?
Maybe it fits under the headset better.

I got to thinking about this this afternoon. We've had FOUR games (Texas, 3-6, UT and now LSU) go down to the final play (WR's FG against UT came with 10 seconds on the clock). Has this ever happened in one season? Four games decided on the last play of the game???

In those four games here are the scores:
Bama 20 - Texas 19
Bama 24 - 3-6: 20
Bama 49 - UT 52
Bama 31 - LSU 32 (at end of regulation 24/24)

I'm not saying Gol*ing should NOT go, but before the LSU game we were averaging 43 a game.

In 3 of these 4 games, the real problem is BOB. He was really the problem in the UT game too and BY bailed him out with his heroics after the terrible 1st quarter. We should have scored 60+ against UT!

But if our offense is just having a "good" day in those other 3 games, only giving up 19, 20, and 24 by the defense should still enable us to enjoy a 20+ point win.

Gol*ing is A problem, but the last two years BOB has been THE problem!

OK, carry on with coaching suggestions!

I know people wax poetic about how prolific we were with Lane calling plays but for me, the ideal play caller is Sark. Almost every play he called was something setting you up for something else later in the game. Whether the play was successful or not, Im gonna give you the same look later and gash you for 40 yards. And he did this all while making sure that his play makers got an optimal amount of touches.

Just typing all that and thinking of the stark contrast that we have here now has upset me
I was frankly devastated as a fan when he left for Texas.

In no particular order...just the Best 5 names out there that might fit and are Creative and Aggressive

Offensive Coordinator:

1) Jeff Lebby - (OU) Kiffin Tree w/ SEC exp at Ole Miss
2) Garrett Riley - (TCU) Lincoln Riley's Brother and had a Top 15 Offense at SMU and Top 5 at TCU
3) Phil Longo - (UNC) Leach Tree w/ SEC exp at Ole Miss and Top 10 Offenses at UNC
4) Jeff Grimes - (BU) Top 5 Offensive at BYU and Top 15 at Baylor
5) Zach Kittley - (TT) Top 5 Offense at WKY w/ Zappe

Defensive Coordinator:

1) Jim Leonhard - (WIS) Several Top 5 and 10 Defenses and Creates lots of Turnovers
2) Phil Parker - (Iowa) Top 5 Defenses at Iowa and Creates lots of Turnovers
3) Glen Schumann - (UGA) Kirby tree at UGA and knows the system.
4) Mike Tressel (Cincy) Top 10 Defenses at both Mich St and Cincy
5) Jeremy Pruitt - *If Available in ANY way* is my #1 Choice

I'm not saying anyone on these lists are sure fire can't miss hires because you never know but pick anybody from my 2 lists and they would be MASSIVE Upgrades over what we currently have.

That's my 2 cents
Gimme Schumann and……….Lebby because I hope he will bring some running game with him as well.
