People have short memories when it suits them. To me, Brian Kelly will always be the guy responsible for that student’s death at Notre Dame, but nobody ever talks about that any more.
*raises hand as likely the only (or one of the very few) poster(s) here to repeatedly name Declan Sullivan by name regarding kelly's hiring*

brian kelly is a dirtbag human.

We obviously have a large class of newbies posting on here and some are quite delusional about CNS replacing O'Brien and Golding, much less their recommendations for replacements. But it is a discussion forum, so enjoy. SMH
Not a new poster, but I think CNS recognizes the situation with BOB. And I think BOB is aware and preparing accordingly. Reports are that BOB told 2024 QB commit Justin Sayin he “didn’t expect to be at Alabama” when he arrived on campus.
The question is Gol*ing. I see Pete being replaced (unless he’s hired away) at less than 50%.

I tend to agree. BoB is gone. But I'm not so sure about Golding.

Did Saban and Muschamp have a falling out of some kind? I think Muschamp was Saban's DC at LSU when they won a NC and I think he was on Saban's staff in the NFL. What are the chances of Muschamp replacing Golding?

This guy is a walking "falling out". Unless he's been put on medication, I wouldn't want him leading the defense. Granted, I'm all for hell, fire, and brimstone when needed. But I don't want the entire house burning to the ground on the sidelines during a game.

I had a lightning bolt thought just now.

Retain both BoB and Gol*ing. No... hear me out. Seriously don't slam the door in my face; just listen.

Swap them. Yes, let BoB coach the defense and Gol*ing coach the offense. Think about it... BoB is actually great at stopping offenses from scoring, while Gol*ing is excellent at befuddling defenses.

This way we save money, keep continuity on the staff, and recruiting continues on as is.

BOB is gone, Golding has at least a foot out the door.
I think Saban knows he has to get rid of both of them or the outcry that will come from the "stands" by not only average Joe fans but his former players will be unbearable and a HUGE distraction to him and the team. I think they both are gone at the season's end.

Saban might care about the distractions, but I doubt the outcry would resonate much. That is why Golding was still here this year. The key is if it starts to affect recruiting.

The outcry last year wasn't anywhere near what it has been this season over Petey Pie. It has been on front street and I have zero doubt it has become like a squeaky wheel in Saban's head, as has BOB. They both are gone, IMO.

I agree with this. As for Muschamp, apparently he and CNS have had a strained relationship for several years. Not sure what or when it happened, but I don't think you will see Muschamp in Tuscaloosa as an Alabama assistant as long as CNS is still in charge.
