Kirbs hit his ceiling against Ezekiel Elliott too.

Kiffin forgot we had a human tank called Derrick Henry as well. But I digress.
Digress? Hardly. Kiffin also called a veritable trick play when a shanked punt left us in the red zone with a chance to take the lead in the 4th. Instead of running the ball, Blake threw the pick.

It's uncanny: Within five minutes of meeting a Buckeye, he or she is thanking me for us not using Henry.

36 points would've won us every 2022 game except Tennessee. Blake's TD pass to Kenyan Drake versus Florida remains one of the best-thrown passes I can remember seeing. Blake's performance that year remains underrated by Alabama fans...
Sims was not underrated by me. I was one of the few posters on here that was on team Sims from the start. I remember only a few other posters that agreed with me before a game was played. Don't remember the exact poster (I am not selma, my memory kind of sucks) but there weren't many.

Unlike others on some message boards, I claim ZERO information on this.

ZERO is also the realistic chance of DM coming to Bama by portal - ZERO.

ZERO is also the realistic chance that Demeco Ryans will be our next DC - ZERO.

ZERO in both cases - ain't happening.

Agree on CDR…that’s easy…but why so adamant about Maye? I don’t think so either, but I’m willing to at least entertain it…

I was wondering the same thing. You realize though that if Maye doesn’t come Hoops has built up a lot of “I told you so points.”😂

If this is true -- and I still don't see how Drake Maye walks away from his family legacy not only at Chapel Hill but across all of North Carolina -- one possible explanation I've heard up here is this:

That to become the No. 1 pick, Maye believes he'll have to prove his mettle against better -- read SEC-caliber -- competition.
I have NO knowledge about DM to Bama, but I don't find it that hard to believe. First, he was committed to us at one point. There's a reason for that. If he's "thinking" about transferring, it shouldn't shock us, despite his family's ties to UNC.

As you mention, there's the competition that will sharpen him in the SEC, the best conference. There's the CNS factor...to play for the best coach. There's the undeniable NFL pipeline, the best in college football. I'm sure there are other factors.

His parents may love UNC, but they love their son more and if they see one year at Bama as the best way to expedite some goals on the way to the NFL, his parents will support him 100% if they are like most good parents.

I'm not saying it can't happen -- only that this would be like one of the Hannahs leaving Alabama. Imagine the conversation around the Maye dinner table. I'm told the kid's father talked him into flipping to Carolina. If true, what would change his mind now?

I'm not saying you're wrong about a father's influence but one thing is clear:

Alabama football > NC football (and CNS > CMB)

Imagine an Alabama kid in basketball possibly getting to transfer to play his last year at UNC when they have a shot at the NC and playing for the best coach in college (I know we may be on equal footing with UNC in basketball right now...maybe even better..., but historically speaking, there really no comparison....just like there's no comparison to NC and Bama football).

I've heard that it's a bit of a 'package deal' with Longo coming as OC. But I've not heard anything remotely concrete about it.

And I don't know anything about Longo, but have kept up with Maye since he was a former commit. But that would make a lot of sense in OCing Bama with Maye might land him a better HC opportunity a couple year's down the pike. I figure that's the way it'll work for the next OC anyway so it might be a win/win for Maye and Longo to come as a package deal.

This is the one I would believe. If Longo does come... and Maye comes... It'll be good for QB room. Longo can develop qbs. That's why I think Simpson needs Longo to develop him more than Bob can. Maye has 1 year left, so i think Simpson benefits from that. He still get to be two years starter.
