Here is a photo of my Mom and stepfather at the Daytona Speedway on July 4th 1971 for the Firecracker 400. (Chrysler took the top 4 spots that year, with The King with his Plymouth Superbird coming in 4 seconds back to Bobby Issac in a Dodge Charger.)

They were married a year earlier, which is also when my brother and I re-located from Norfolk, VA to Florida, while still in high school.

I attended the 1970 24 Hours of Daytona, but not sure where any photos I took from that race are.

As much as I hate to generalise....what is it with those Jeep owners anyway? Many of them are clueless on how to drive.....
You should see them on the trails...
Or parking lots.......

That is 65, I believe. It is exactly like the first actual Shelby I saw. I had a 67 Shelby GT-500 which was a nice car in many ways. Super fast and great looks but not nearly the performance car as the 65/66 350 models.
I was watching him in my rear view mirror and thought "Well well - this isn't your average run of the mill Stang!"

Then when he went by making the left turn as I went straight (I slowed a bit to see what he had) I almost crapped in my pants it was such a beautiful car....lol....
