Stetson Bennett is Van Wilder

He really ought to have at least one advanced degree by now. As it is, according to multiple sources he doesn't even have a BA or BS.

On the one hand, this should come as no shock. Whereas Alabama has the SEC's best football APR (at 995 out of 1000), good for the nation's third best, UGa at 965 has the SEC's just 10th best APR, ahead of only Arky, TAMU, UTe and LSU. The SEC football average is 970.

On the other hand, this means Bennett is contributing to UGa's underperformance.

If I were the LA Rams owner, I'd want to know why we picked him in the 4th round if he's not sufficiently smart or focused to get even a BA in six years of college.

In six years he could have at least got a degree in Journalism or Basket Weaving

Do you have to actually work towards a degree or can you just take a bunch of classes to maintain eligibility?
APR measures the extent to which players stay on target to graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in a set amount of time (can’t remember if it’s five years or six). So, in theory at least, you have to be working toward a degree. If your APR falls below 950, the NCAA applies penalties like post-season sanctions and “scholarship” reductions. I put scholarship in quotes because, if you fall below 950, can what you offer be said in any meaningful sense to be a scholarship?

And yet you have student athletes at other universities taking advantage of the academic support provided to them and graduating with post grad degrees in UNDER FOUR YEARS.

Yep. Thurston Bennett the 6th will be working the drive thru at the local Rasin’ Canes for years to come.

He can attend classes for the rest of his life for free at UGA. No idea why he has no degree, but if he wants or needs one, he will get one.
