I Don't Know Where to Start With The Team (Literally - No Teaser)

Compared to the last 15 years, we suck. That's what's wrong.
I said that a few times yesterday. It was really bad. It seems that maybe some things need to be simplified because I can't believe this many four and five star players can be recruiting misses. It doesn't look like anyone from the coaching staff to the players is on the same page. It was ugly and confusing how we could look so inept. I hope it gets better.

Our 4 & 5 stars are now making coin, and playing like they are biding their time until they make the pros.

At this point, give me the hungry three stars

I said it a week ago, no leadership. i don’t see any players taking command of the team on the sideline. Nobody stands out as a true leader. This group of upperclassmen are mediocre. How can we have year after year of great recruiting classes and not have the talent? It’s got to be there but nothing is meshing it all together and it’s not just the coaches. Players have to take some responsibility.
Exactly . It feels eerily similar to the pre-Saban days right now

And more alabama high school players that knows what it’s feels like to lose to teams from Auburn and Uthug. Those type of players will run through brick walls for you if that what it takes to not lose a ball game.

I see what you are saying... WHY is the team playing so poorly?

The QB can't find enough time to pass because the entire defense seems to be staring him in the face before he can take 2 steps.
Has the offensive line been given a blocking scheme that is outdated?
Has everyone else's defense discovered how to beat our offensive line?
What exactly has become our weak spot that EVERYONE seems to be able to use against us?

It is VERY confusing to see....
This is NOT Alabama football..... Our team is too good for this type of play.
The offensive team is not too good. It is terrible. Now the individual players may be excellent but they cant be called a team for there is no teamwork. No cohesion.

Which speaks to my point a few posts above.

Not pointing fingers at anybody, but a lot of people wanted BOB fired. Whether he was fired or left on his own, I don't know. But those people got their wish for a new OC. How's that working out?
I doubt BoB could have done any better with this offensive team that can't block and doesn't have a Heisman trophy winning, number 1 pick in the NFL draft QB to bail him out.

1. In the 4th quarter yesterday, Simpson began to look like a leader, handled the position well (similar to AJ in some of his games) and did not make a mistake resulting in a turnover. He may not be the best option going forward, but his performance should give him some confidence.
2. I will admit that there were points where I wanted to see Milroe at QB, but that was frustration due to the offense not producing. A fair evaluation of the Texas game shows that reading defenses and the intermediate passing game are problems for him and yesterday, Simpson looked sharp on some of those passes. If he continues to improve, that could help open up the running game and take some of the pressure off the quarterback by slowing down the rush.
3. The key moving forward is to play turnover free football on offense and pray that the defense can produce a couple of turnovers each week. We knew coming into this season that we would have to depend on the defense to save us in some games and that happened yesterday. It may not be able to do that in the coming weeks, but let's take it one step at a time and see what happens. Both the offense and defense should show some improvement each game and a little improvement can make a lot of difference.
4. Having Nick Saban on the sidelines is worth points in every game. With Milroe, he sees what could be. Part of the problem is the unexpected negative things that may happen when he is in the game. Simpson is not going to overpower a defense, but after seeing him hold onto the ball after some of the hits he took yesterday, it looks like he is not going to give points away either.
5. The problem is that the coaches cannot know how the games will turn out based on which starter is selected. Are we better off with Milroe and a dynamic, mistake prone offense and the possibility of a long scoring strike on any play or Simpson with better ball security and the chance that we cannot score enough points to keep up if the defense is having a bad day?

Would you be comfortable betting on Ole Miss?
I'm not a gambler, nor am I a fan of Kiffy-poo, but I would take Ole Miss +11 all day and night. After watching our offense the last two weeks, I doubt we can score 11 much less win by 11. I hope we come out with a better plan and firing on all cylinders and blow out the Rebel Blackbear Landsharks, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I was busy yesterday working on a project. I watched the game while doing so, but probably not as intently as normal.

However, I didn't check the board until this morning and I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START! There are thousands of pages and no telling how many posts.

So in a nutshell, what's up with Alabama football???

It's really not that many if you cut out the repeats. For some reason, I can't stop reading them but I'm just seeing the same things over and over again; many basically started several weeks ago.
