Jalen Milroe is now the starter going forward.

Why?

Look-- Saban is the GOAT. But even the GOAT can be wrong and make bad decisions.

The way this entire thing has been handled REEKS. You dont go from starting QB whose done virtually nothing to warrant being it.. to suspended.. to starting the next week.

The program is sliding and this just signifies a huge red flag.

The players only meetings. He's lost control of this team IMO.

Maybe he'll get it back. Seems like there are some people that are trying to get it back with/for him. But right now... this is bad and looks like the titanic just hit the iceburg
Of course he can make bad decisions. But he didn't make this decision because players told him to. That's legitimately absurd.

Makes you wonder if Saturday was on purpose to tell everyone to shut up, the picked the best guy in the first place.
And I agree, its all about the OL. If that isn't fixed, Bryce, Mac, Tua, or Joe Willie wouldn't make the difference.
That was my first thought. Let everyone see the competition against an opponent they’d beat anyway just to show the situation.

The fact that we took Buchner in the first place said all you needed to know about the QB room. He stunk at ND.

I just texted a friend to say I hope Ty Simpson doesn't transfer out.

What if JM is healed of throwing it to the other team? We know Buckner isn't the answer now.

Better get the true freshman warmed up.
He may.

Honestly, speaking of Simpson being upset, what would really upset me is if he wasn't 2nd team at this point. THAT much is abundantly clear.

And if he is, my advice to him would be to keep grinding. Work even harder. BE READY.

As i said... we'll never know what happens behind closed doors. However, we've had 2 meetings, i'm sure to address exactly this.

Its a known fact now that JM re-acted so poorly to getting benched that he was suspended basically for the SF game. Now he's back as the starter AFTER not playing.

The entire situation REEKS. And is very un-saban like. The entire team isnt on board and hasnt been on board. The play has declined over the last few seasons and now this.....

what if saban had retired after the last national title and Sark taken over. Might be in better shape.

IF that is the case, then it should tell you the guys behind Milroe are pretty terrible/well behind him as a QB. Not that the team chose a QB for Saban.

To be clear, I was all for someone else getting a shot after Texas. Mirloe's 2 ints were horrible.

But the most likely scenario right now is that Buchner and Simpson are worse at being a QB than Milroe...

He was definitely a big part of it (hardly the only part). But why on earth does anyone have this supreme confidence that it would have been any better, if not worse, with Simpson is beyond me.
It just seems we a pinning our hope on a QB who can run better than pass.

We've seen this before. Beat the snot out of an average team with that. Play the big boys and can't move the ball.

As for Simpson, I think everyone just wonders IF he could but now it seems strange he isn't being given the chance after Buchner was given the chance. We all have eyes and have seen the 3 of them pass and almost everyone agrees Ty Simpson has the best arm talent. It just seems strange at this point.

sure thats one way it could have went down.

OR

The team dislike simpson so much there would be a bigger cluster....

like i said, it will be impossible to know. I have my guesses but saying them on the board without proof usulally gets a strong slap on the wrist.

Clearly the team is split on this issues.. or the meetings dont happen.... clearly if it was in saban we trust there wouldnt be team meetings. The TEAM has seen the QB position one way this entire time. Obviously Saban hasnt.

It’s a “Devil you know” situation. We know what we have in Milroe. We also know he can’t read defenses or maintain possession. Everything was lining up for Bama to go back to a ball-control, physical, rushing offense. And then…Milroe didn’t transfer, and this is the result.
