Bama getting no respect

Georgia is looking fairly tough. I wouldn't pencil them out as of yet.
Georgia looks very good again and is favored to run the table and enter the playoffs as the number one seed. We are speculating about our chances if we are able to beat both Au and UGA and finish as the 12-1 SEC champ. We should be in. Period! However, humans can play politics instead of making sense, so some like to keep coming up with different scenarios.

they beat colorado and utah. it doesn't matter to the committee that those teams suck now.

Also, the committee will justify it by saying Oregon lost only by 3, and it was an away game. Bama lost at home by 10. I don't think Oregon should be ranked ahead of Bama or Texas, especially when you see who they have played/their Strength of Schedule. I'm not sure what the committee is thinking this year.

If Alabama beats Georgia, Alabama is better, so a win over Alabama is the better win, right?
Actually up to that moment, no. Up to that moment they would have beaten the #5-#8 Alabama team. Bama would have beaten the #1 team.

After they are newly slotted you can say that, but up to then Bama would have the better win.

Beating Georgia is far from a certainty at this point. Makes sense to me that the committee is playing the odds and hoping Georgia wins out--they don't have to make any controversial moves unless Alabama actually beats them. I just don't understand how Oregon can still be ranked ahead of Alabama.

Look at Oregon's schedule. They have one loss, just like us. So by what unearthly stretch of logic are they still ranked ahead of us?

Because the team they lost to is still undefeated - and the team we lost to isn't.

If Texas had beaten Oklahoma, we'd be in better shape.
We'd also be in better shape if Texas had the 2008 Oklahoma offense running up points.

What is killing us right now is:
a) so many still unbeaten teams
b) the fact Texas has ONE loss, not ZERO or TWO

I suspect Oregon is ranked ahead of Bama because of flash and scoring offense. And partly because of the Heisman hype Bo Nix has gotten all season. Even though they scored 81 against a high school team to inflate their numbers, their lowest scoring output was 33 points in the loss to Washington. Bama has scored under 30 points in 5 games. I think that is holding us down.
