We shall seeTheir defense is great, and their offense is better than you think. The B1G is a defensive conference this year.

If we beat UGA we will have the better win. And the better loss vs Texas.so what week is it acceptable?
Georgia looks very good again and is favored to run the table and enter the playoffs as the number one seed. We are speculating about our chances if we are able to beat both Au and UGA and finish as the 12-1 SEC champ. We should be in. Period! However, humans can play politics instead of making sense, so some like to keep coming up with different scenarios.Georgia is looking fairly tough. I wouldn't pencil them out as of yet.

If Alabama beats Georgia, Alabama is better, so a win over Alabama is the better win, right? If we beat UGA we will have the better win. And the better loss vs Texas.

I have to admit that I would be. And I would be just as wrong as they are.If the shoe were on the other foot you would be screaming that Alabama's head to head win had to trump everything else.
Look at Oregon's schedule. They have one loss, just like us. So by what unearthly stretch of logic are they still ranked ahead of us?

they beat colorado and utah. it doesn't matter to the committee that those teams suck now.
Actually up to that moment, no. Up to that moment they would have beaten the #5-#8 Alabama team. Bama would have beaten the #1 team.If Alabama beats Georgia, Alabama is better, so a win over Alabama is the better win, right?
They can win, if FSU loses. Then I think we are both in.I still think Texas has to lose. Period.
Agreed - Alabama is a slam dunk if you win out and either Texas or FSU drops a game. They can win, if FSU loses. Then I think we are both in.
It's just that Oregon and the PAC-X have such a history of winning national championships. Hard to ignore if you're the committee.Look at Oregon's schedule. They have one loss, just like us. So by what unearthly stretch of logic are they still ranked ahead of us?

I suspect Oregon is ranked ahead of Bama because of flash and scoring offense. And partly because of the Heisman hype Bo Nix has gotten all season. Even though they scored 81 against a high school team to inflate their numbers, their lowest scoring output was 33 points in the loss to Washington. Bama has scored under 30 points in 5 games. I think that is holding us down.Beating Georgia is far from a certainty at this point. Makes sense to me that the committee is playing the odds and hoping Georgia wins out--they don't have to make any controversial moves unless Alabama actually beats them. I just don't understand how Oregon can still be ranked ahead of Alabama.
