What are we doing, CFB? Jeez. Just saw where KJ Jefferson may enter the transfer portal . His only transfer portal option should be the NFL draft. That’s it! He has 5 years of statistics listed under his name. The senior QB from from Kansas St is listed as the top QB in the portal right now. He is a senior. He has played 4 years already. C’mon! This is another problem with the current state of CFB. There were two kids this year I know of with 7 years of eligibility. What the heck are we doing?
Just want ya’ll to know I will not be entering the portal and taking my talents elsewhere. I have at least two more years of eligibility here on Tidefans.
FBS rosters grow to 20.5% transfer players in 2023
As the transfer portal continues to grow in popularity throughout college football, the 2023 season showed just how big of an impact transfers have made. In 2019, just 6.4% of FBS rosters were made up of transfers. That number grew to 20.5% in 2023.
There is no doubt that Auburn is going hard after a QB in the portal. I'd rather them not get any of the Jefferson, Rodgers, or Washington State combo; but it wouldn't surprise me if Freeze ends up landing one of these guys...or perhaps the kid from Duke.
I hate NIL. Other students who are non-athletes are shafted. Sorry, but that's the way I see it. Can't believe it's gone this far.
I’m afraid @CajunCrimson probably isn’t. I think every year we can begin to expect on average 15 or more hitting the portal each year.
Might as well put it up:
I'd guess the average transfers per year, going out and coming in will be around 20% of an entire roster......according to the article I posted earlier. With teams like Clemson and Georgia on one end with hardly any and teams like Colorado and Ole Miss where they've got half or 3/4th of their team being transfers.
