It felt like that at times.so these numbers can't be right. 360 sacks in a season would be like 30+ sacks per game....

I haven't seen the willingness to utilize his speed effectively except on a few ocassions. He appears to be undecided well past the line of scrimmage. He is not and will most likely never be a Larmar Jackson. He has greater size but no where near the twitch that Lamar Jackson had in high school.Milroe's vision, decision making and mechanics.....he can fix his mechanics with work, but the other stuff I'm not so sure. I'd imagine Sayin already is ahead of him on vision and decision making.
Actually, no, that's not really it.
I'm just saying that Krazy is not correct in saying that the snap issues impacted JMs ability to perform pre-snap reads. If there were hot reads, then yes, a bad snap would mess up a QBs ability to make those, but snap issues don't have anything at all to do with the ability to do PRESNAP reads.
That's right. Erratic snaps don't really impact pre-snap reads in terms of audibles, etc. They impact post-snap execution. They also fluster inexperienced QBs, particularly those who are already a bit slow on the uptake. Erratic snaps are unacceptable at this level.
My larger point is that when JM had clean snaps and decent protection, he played well enough to beat any team in the country. He needs to improve, but JM does not snap the football and he does not block. In our offense, JM is not responsible for adjusting protection pre-snap. Blaming him for the O-Line getting their asses whipped is not a strong position. Anyhow, all of this analysis, mine included, is extremely superficial. What's important is how CNS and his staff digest this internally in terms of QB1 moving forward. Hopefully, it's an open competition.
Yup. And it doesn't matter who you have on the OL when the QB holds the ball for 4 seconds or can't feel pressure and move in the pocket or hit the check down. Look at Penix vs Texas, he had a couple really nice throws after making subtle movements in the pocket to avoid pressure.
I don't put all the sacks on Milroe but I don't put all of them on the OL either. It was a team effort.
Which sack did JM hold the ball for four seconds during the CFP semifinal? Four of them are below. Perhaps I'm missing the one you're thinking of.

Eh, pretty debatable. On our final drive in regulation there were no snap issues, yet Milroe just straight missed a wide open WR on 2nd down for a potential 20yd gain, and then inexplicably decided to take a very low probability deep pass to I think Burton on 3rd and 9. And boom, that was it. Had to hold on for overtime.
The issues this year were a combination of a few things that all effected each other. Sure, some low snaps possibly threw Milroe off his gam a few times. But the majority of the bad QB play and decision making had little to nothing to do with the snaps.

There were 12 possessions. Four were successful (scoring possessions). Eight were unsuccessful (not scoring possessions).
Four of the non-successful possessions stalled due to JM making a mistake or failing to execute. The other four unsuccessful drives stalled because the O-Line made a mistake (allowed a sack, snapped the ball erratically) or failed to execute run-block assignments (possession #4). Well I think you are missing the point. That is what. No one is arguing that the OL didn’t have problems and that bad snaps didn’t kill drives this year (and once against Michigan). You said that when he got clean snaps Milroe played good enough to beat any team in the country. I don’t think that’s true and I think the evidence supports my assertion when we look at the best teams we played this season- Texas, UGA, and Michigan. His bad play, when it showed up, is on him, not Seth. There were 12 possessions. Four were successful (scoring possessions). Eight were unsuccessful (not scoring possessions).

that was my thought out of 6 ppl half of them was on Jalen how’s is that a supportive argumentSo unsuccessful possessions were unsuccessful 50% of the time because of Jalen....thats your argument?
It’s going to be hard for Jalen to negate the free rusher and overloaded sides if he doesn’t throw it before the breaks on the short to intermediate routes. The ball has to come out before the receiver makes the break and if you wait until the break you are giving the free rusher extra time on a ball that should’ve been already out. Not to mention being late means you lose YAC and the db could possibly recover .Second one is not a bust, it's a free Blitzer. Jalen never saw it coming.
Third one, overload, Jalen needs to read that and dump it off quick, instead, he's looking downfield.
Fourth, same as the third. Overload, dump it quick, you don't have time for downfield.
Third one looked like Jalen made an adjustment. But that adjustment changed no blocking for the RB and also didn't change Jalen from looking deep.
I can tell you on that first one....Milroe should have seen the overload on the right side, adjust by moving the RB over to block to account for the overload. Did he ever do such a thing during the year? I really don't know.

We didnt roll the pocket because apparently JM cannot throw well on the run...probably why when he moves its to run not throw most of the time...its another area that he needs to improve but given he has been at Bama 3 years its unlikely he can.

I'll support whoever is the starting QB, but if JM can't read defenses well, can't throw on the run, can't run the offense as designed, I've little hope Bama will execute the way we want to see them.We didnt roll the pocket because apparently JM cannot throw well on the run...probably why when he moves its to run not throw most of the time...its another area that he needs to improve but given he has been at Bama 3 years its unlikely he can.
