Do we benefit if Tennessee makes the championship game?

IF tennessee wins out and makes the SECCG (giving Bama a bye the week of the SECCG) Bama might be able to meet them again in the CFP, which I would relish...

Regardless, Bama needs to win out for anything to happen post-season, but I'd LOVE to see Bama knock tennessee out of the playoffs.

:)
And Texas too. Might as well double dip on the UT’s.

If losing a conference championship game actually knocks out a team that would have gone to the play offs if it hadn’t played in the championship game, conferences may drop the championship game so fast it will make your head spin. If that were to happen, I suppose that the conferences would just award conference championships based on conference records (?). Would have to have some sort of tie breaker system.
Like we did prior to the advent of conference title games.

I wish we'd ditch the games and go to 9 or even 10 conference games. I realize I'm in the minority here on that. But we played 9 conference games every season we went to the SEC championship game. So what's the difference if we do away with that game and go to 9 conference games all around? None.

I want 9 SEC games, not to placate the whiners elsewhere (namely Big Ten fans), but because it would improve the quality of the product. Get rid of the FCS game on the schedules. Nine conference games, one quality power 4 game, and two games vs. a mid-major conference opponent.

One other thing about 9 or 10 conference games, you reduce the potential of these massive pile ups at the top like we are headed for this season. Of course, I cannot recall a season the SEC was so stacked at the top half of the league like it is this season.

If we stay at this 12 team playoff, the only time i want Bama in the SEC championship game is if we have one or no losses. Going in to that SEC championship game with 2 losses is not a good situation. Win and in and lose and out. I would rather be in the 12 team playoff with 2 losses and no chance to play in Atlanta for the SEC. Of course it would be great to just win all our games, the SEC and the NCAA championships. But that won't happen often with the current state of college football.
How does seeding play in to home vs away games though. Say we get in with 2 losses and don’t play in the SECC. We don’t get a bye, are we home or away? And what about going forward? Is that 2-3 away games before transitioning to bowl games?

The moral of this story is: Don't lose to Vandy.

I can't pull for Tenn. I just can't. As much as I'd love the possibility for Bama to be the team to put them out in the playoffs, I'd much rather they did not make it in.

Not me, I'd LOVE for nothing more than to curb-stomp their hillbilly butts on a big stage.

Nico is playing Saturday, I have a friend who is good friends with one of the equipment managers and he said he was playing, said junior samples was trying to keep Georgia guessing

Exactly this. And also teams may stop scheduling quality OOC opponents since the committee is already telling us that SoS doesn't matter with their favoring of the Big 10. Would Penn State only have 1 loss with Bama's schedule? Probably not. Would Indiana be undefeated? Don't think so. Would Oregon be undefeated? They'd have a better shot than those other two teams, but I doubt it. Same with Ohio State with the way they've looked. The current committee is either anti-SEC or Big Ten homers. Looks like Warde Manuel is the Michigan AD, so it's definitely the latter.

Don’t insult a living legend like Junior Samples like this, comparing him to Heupel. Besides, Heupel is really Bobby Hill …all grown up.
