Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

Edit: The polls will have Alabama in, the computers will have Alabama in. If the committee doesn't include Alabama they are basically putting their thumb on the scale and saying "we don't want this to happen". For the record, Alabama was in last year under these circumstances so the committee didn't actually help them there.

I was confident last year that we would get into the playoffs, I’m fairly confident we will not make it this year. Would love to be wrong. But, what’s the best non playoff bowl games now? Curious where we could end up?

By ranking IU and PSU, who haven't beaten a ranked team, btw so high, they have caused their own problem...plus letting ND act like a P5 team and not a G5 team. The only measure we lose is losses..but it should be wins that count more. The bama fatigue is real and last year did not help with us getting in over UGA. I have zero confidence that logic prevails...and that they put us in. They will put SMU in. This just rewards weak schedules and shows you just need to rack up wins vs .500 teams and you are in....it would mean they go back on their word...they said teams NOT playing could not fall out of the rankings....but lets see shall we....

So Bama would make it using the BCS formula.

This was always going to be an issue with cfb playoffs. All the conferences are not the same

It's not like Marquette getting in over Florida in basketball because Marquette could beat Florida or Kentucky on a neutral court any given year in basketball

Citrus I believe, it would be against Big Ten team

personally I’d like to see Alabama vs Colorado

Ratings for that would be higher than a lot of 1st round games

Hard to believe we may get left out of the playoffs because an SEC official doesn’t understand the rule as to if a receiver is covered up or not…
