The effort was there, but the execution was not. And every time we got close, we let Auburn pull away again. Hopefully we can learn something from this game.
Was thinking the same about the learning part ... Hopefully we can learn from it and dominate consistently in the rest of our games. The other team did exactly what they needed to do to win today, we didn't.

If you had told me we hold Auburn to <50% FGM I would say we win. Didn't think we would be <20% 3PM
We should never shoot that poorly at Coleman.

Positives
We only had 7 turnovers.
We out-rebounded them.

Negatives
3 point shooting
Unable to get some turnovers and get out in transition.
Not finishing at the room with some easy misses
The high ball screen defense was atrocious and we never changed it. You can’t just keep droping back and letting guard shoot or drive to the goal. Teams will watch film on this so we need to adjust either by jumping out or at least hedge it to allow our guard to get back in position to give them a chance.

A couple of observations about Auburn. They are awfully handsy on defense. When it gets called tighter in the NCAA tournament, it may come back to bite them.

Broome is a great college player. He is not an NBA player. He has no shot. He’s not athletic enough and not a good enough shooter from the outside to overcome that. That’s why he stayed at Auburn; to make NIL as long as he can. Him and Sears are in the same boat but with different deficiencies. He better enjoy this while he can.

Like last year; we are not playing good defense and when the shooting is off a bit; we have a problem. We scored 85 and lost bye 9. Our D got better in the tournament last year; will need to do the same this year to make a run. No team has won the Championship since 2002 that was not top 25 in scoring D. We were ranked 327, before giving up 94 today.

Everybody is going to point to shooting but we have to get better and tougher on defense to be a championship level team. We are near the bottom in the country in turnover rate on defense. We just don’t make offenses uncomfortable enough.
I can’t agree with this more. This team needs to understand that defense does “stir the drink” for you when shots aren’t falling. A steal here for a quick basket, a blocked shot there and next thing you know the offense begins to find a rhythm and shots fall.

I’ll believe it when I see it. The last few tournaments have been won by the team that combined elite athleticism with physicality.

When the three's are not falling we are just a above average team, but when they are we can beat anyone, I think we lose at least two more games, Ute ( will not get a single call) and at the Barn, but the Missouri game is very critical so we need to be focused

Not true, Bama has been more of an inside team all year and have won all year.

He’s an NBA. Maybe not a great one, but he is one. I hate to say it but with the way the NBA is, I could go in and give them double digits.

I'm sure Auburn fans say the same about us.
Pretty sure you’re an Aubie. But with Auburn, it’s just as much as showing disrespect to the other team and crowd as it is celebrating their team’s success. They were doing the Crimson Crane, the “too small” gesture, the thumbs down thing when Sears turned it over, and even got into it with a lady in the crowd. And that’s all a reflection of Bruce Pearl. It’s well documented about his lack of character and his teams mirror that lack of class.

Now, do you see Bama players doing all that?
