I thought we would have a good home stand and still think we close out April strong on the road.

Friday - Sale vs Gallen
Saturday - Holmes vs Kelly
Sunday - Schwelly vs Pfaadt (now that’s a name)

Interesting historical notes:

- there have been 19 four-homer games in baseball history
- the Braves have given up 3 of those 19
- one each in Boston, Milwaukee, and then Atlanta

Just seeing the final score.

ESPN’s probability win chart looks like an EKG with multiple heart attacks.

We are 1.5 games behind Philly for 2nd and only 6.5 behind the Mets with 4+ months left.

We actually have a chance to get out of April without a losing record.

Kind of Miraculous.

And we don’t even have our best team on the field yet. And we have a pitching staff being held together by Medical doctors and bailing wire.

Raisel Iglesias has allowed five homers through 10 innings, one more than he allowed over 69 1/3 innings last year.

Dropped the finale but still a good series win @ Arizona. We need to crush the Rockies.

Monday - Elder vs Feltner
Tuesday - TBD vs Marquez
Wednesday - Sale vs Dollander

TBD could be Smith-Shawver or even Ian Anderson.

Take 2 of 3 from the D-Backs, then sweep the hapless Rockies, and all of a sudden you finish April with a .500 record (15-15), get a day off, and have the chance to exact some revenge against the Dodgers at home (hopefully with Strider healthy enough to make a start).

My above quote was from the home stand thread from last week, and despite how disappointed I am that we failed to take advantage of so many opportunities yesterday (seriously, we should have scored 8+ runs), it can still come to pass if we take care of business against the Rockies.

I just don't want us to stumble around and lose one or two - or, God forbid, get swept - by the worst team in baseball like we did last year. Losing that series to the White Sox in 2024 - when they only won 8 series all year - was the kind of thing that just shouldn't happen to a team with this much talent.
