Nah, there are lots of posts (here and elsewhere) where people say things like "I didn't agree with a single thing Kirk believed but murdering him was wrong".

It's the way some people are posting (here and elsewhere) that causes the pushback. The 'he had it coming', 'live by the sword, die by the sword', etc comments are distasteful.

There's a difference.

Again, I'm not familiar with the guy - I'm far from his target demographic - so while I likely agreed with some (maybe even much, I dunno) of what he said, I've no idea. From that perspective I'm largely unbiased. But I can still see the obvious jabs from some of the posts.

Yes I did - first thing I said was 'nah' in answer to your question. Of course we can discuss his life. I just wanted to point out that there will obviously be pushback against mischaracterization (from those that are familiar with him) or hinting that he was just 'reaping what he sowed'.

And there it is. I am terrified of what happens next. This won't go unanswered.

Since it was a believer (I was unfamiliar with Kirk until last night but from what I heard it appears he is a believer in Jesus Christ.) who was killed, there will just probably be prayer. Some of those who pray will likely pray for the left as well. If it had been a leftist, history tells us there would be fire, destruction, looting and possibly another assasination attempt.

There’s a big difference between the two. Btw, Repub <> believer, though many of the lost Rs are affected by the believers.

Ironic indeed. I'm not sure these people celebrating his death have ever had consequences as a result of their actions. I mean, for crying out loud, its fine to speak out, to speak your opinion....but celebrating someone's death is abhorrent.
