That's how it goes in Neyland. When you travel there, as an opponent, you have to beat 2 opponents. The Vols, and the zebras.
Bama has to beat both, even in Tuscaloosa, especially in Coleman. Every other BB team gets clear bias on their home court, but not Bama. And it gets worse every year as they allow more and more physical contact from thug ball teams. I stand firm in my opinion that college basketball officials are the worst in all of sports (except for maybe FIFA refs). That's how it goes in Neyland. When you travel there, as an opponent, you have to beat 2 opponents. The Vols, and the zebras.
Oh, the irony...After that play, I told my wife that it looked like something auburn would do.
Venables deserves a fine and suspension. If this was indeed emphasized to not be doing this type of thing and they actually practiced it, which is what these people working for OU has said, then nail him to the wall for the next conference game and make him not have comms with the team all week or at the game. Show they mean business.I don't care if Auburn has done a ton of this crap before, I hate seeing it, though I'm not surprised to see oklahoma crawling the gutter under venables.
Here is the audio of Teddy Lehman bragging about it:
I hate cheaters, I don't care who it is.
Me too.The team who is known for getting questionable calls at home was on the receiving end of it. I love that for them.![]()
That barner poster had repeated issue with not knowing his place.Me too.
Also I remember when we got absolutely hosed by Autry’s crew in Knoxville in 2022 and an AU fan here said we should be happy for Tenn winning one for the 1st time in 16 years.
I mean lol
I’m only upset that OU only got away with that 1 play.
Not worried about OU pulling it on us.That barner poster had repeated issue with not knowing his place.
The only thing I hate about the sooners getting away with it is it could happen against us.
The major conferences (ACC, SEC, and B1G) conduct reviews (those that are reviewable) with a centralized review center in conjunction with the on field crew chief. The SEC review center is Birmingham, ACC in Charlotte/Greensboro and B1G in Rosemont, IL.. Most of the major “things” are reviewable with the exception of OPI/DPI, holding and formation calls.LOL at the Barn. Justice for so many times they've played football trickeration!!!
But blown calls are simply part of football. We lost a game last year to OU, ironically, because of a bad call...but we also played very poorly in that game too.
I do think getting full time, professional referees would change some of this, but it would be harder to do with the sheer number of games that are being played simultaneously on any given Saturday. But maybe start with the power 5 conferences and go from there???
But, even with professional crews, you'll still have missed calls.
IMO, the best/fastest improvement is to have a crew of reviewers who do reviews off site and get the reviews out of the judgment of the head ref on the field (looking into a 1-foot monitor). Give the review crew the power to change bad calls, including PI calls, which can change the outcomes of games just as much as blow TD, fumble or INT calls.
If you're in the mood to fine or suspend somebody how about the refs who let it happen? Appears OU let the refs know about the play and was advised BY THE OFFICIALS that it was a legal play. Once the official tells you it is legal .................Venables deserves a fine and suspension. If this was indeed emphasized to not be doing this type of thing and they actually practiced it, which is what these people working for OU has said, then nail him to the wall for the next conference game and make him not have comms with the team all week or at the game. Now, I have another question. Aren’t all players supposed to be inside the numbers or something presnap. Isn’t there some rule about that? One of yall knows what I’m talking about.
I have not heard that one.If you're in the mood to fine or suspend somebody how about the refs who let it happen? Appears OU let the refs know about the play and was advised BY THE OFFICIALS that it was a legal play. Once the official tells you it is legal .................

I am pretty sure that the SEC refs have been "schooled" this week...![]()
