i Saw a very good show on HBO last night about the Chiefs-- Did anyone else see it? What do you think the chances are for brodie being the starting QB? The coaches seemed very impressed with his talent, but not so much with his decision making.

Saw it last night as well and what Herm had to say about him and his swagger was a positive sign, still it was just the first week and if all the reports were correct he has some good improvement throughout camp. I like his chances especially if he gets settled down and doesn't turn the ball over.

I just can't wait to see what happens to the holdouts lol.

Do you know if they are going to show any more from training camp?, or was this the only show? I think it was a pretty good show, i wouldnt mind seeing a show where they followed a team for the whole year, kinda like that show about hoover

yep they are I don't how long it runs, but I believe it's the whole camp week by week. I know the previews for next week are of Bowe arriving and continuing from there.

ahh here we go.

HARD KNOCKS: TRAINING CAMP WITH THE KANSAS CITY CHIEFS debuts in August. The first sports-based reality series - and one of the fastest-turnaround reality series - will return with its third season Wednesday, August 8th (9:00 PM - 10:00 PM Central Time), exclusively on HBO. Subsequent hour-long episodes will air each Wednesday at the same time, culminating with the season finale on Sept. 5, with encore replays on Thursdays.

What I really liked was their QB coach saying that Brodie had "more natural talent" and "more potential" than Huard but that he was still green. One thing was particularly telling - I think it was Herm Edwards who said it - they said that their only issue with Brodie was that he would try to throw perfect passes into tight situations downfield instead of going to the outlet receiver for a short gain. But the coach also said "let's face it - to be honest, he can get the ball into those tight spaces."

He's only been in the league one season. It takes more than that to learn the team's playbook and to adjust to the NFL.

The show actually had a fair bit of Brodie - a lot of looks at him throwing. If anything he's even improved his arm strength.

The Chiefs are obviously VERY high on Brodie. It's not a matter of IF he will start but WHEN. My prediction is somewhere around week 5.

surprise, surprise - He has always been slow to make decisions & that would be THE only thing that will keep him from being a great pro QB - IMHO

However I think he will start and will do well - If he can get his ability to react quicker and more decisive than he did at Bama he could really be a good pro QB.

Sounds like he makes throws similar to my other favorite player, Farve which means some incredible passes that mnay QBs will not throw but also many interceptions. Farve will force that ball between defenders & it's great but always gives the defenders several INT opportunities during the game

GO BRODIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, if Brodie doesn't become the starter he shouldn't be too depressed. Did you see the wife he gets to go home to??? Wow!!!! Brodie is doing well for himself!!

The choice facing the Chiefs is:

"Do we want to start this season with an inexperienced Brodie Croyle or start next season with an inexperienced Brodie Croyle?"

I'll bet Herm Edwards knows 2007 isn't the Chief's year and he won't want to screw up next year by trying to win 2 more games with a 34 year old career backup at QB.

In his defense, Huard can take one look at Brodie's frame and feel really good about getting some starts in 2007.

That show is pretty kool. I think Brodie will start b/c hes young and the coaches want to go ahead and get him in there. Plus he is going to have one of the strongest arms in the NFL. I hope Dewayne Bowe gets kicked off the team lol i hate him.

Living here in Minneapolis, I had an opportunity to see Brodie Croyle practice last night (the Chiefs have their training camp at UW-River Falls, which is just a half hour drive from the Twin Cities).

The kids got to meet Brodie and get autographed pictures. You know you've made the big time when they sell 8x10 glossies of your picture at the concession stand.

Brodie looks really sharp. The Chiefs fans seemed pleased by what they saw. He's bigger and stronger, and a lot faster than the fans in Kansas City realized. I'm really looking forward to this Saturday, when he makes his first pre-season start. It's been too long since an Alabama alum made an NFL start (even if it is pre-season).

Where is that game going to be on TV so i can watch it?

It's not. Very few preseason games are on television (Although some might be shown locally - The Birmingham market will usually get some Titans preseason games that are picked up from the Nashville broadcast station). The NFL website has a listing of all the preseason games that will be on national television. We get the Colts/Cowboys on FOX tonight.

One Kansas City game will be shown nationally. The week 2 preseason game against the Dolphins (Thursday, August 16th - a week from tonight) will be on ESPN. Croyle should see decent playing time in that one.
