Keith Brown & Prince Hall suspended

Just heard Saban on TV with his live press conference today. He mentioned both Keith Brown and Prince Hall had been suspended for the first game for breaking team rules.

I hate this, but I wonder why guys who broke the law aren't suspended also? Might as well get it over with.

Several sources (including BOL) are reporting Brown and Hall are suspended for one game. Saban just said it at his press conference. No reason given.

Sorry, just saw the other post go up after I posted this. You can remove this thread.

Re: Keith Brown & Prince Hall suspended

He JUST said it, there's no link yet. BOL just sent out text messages.

I'm not one of those people who post rumors. Take it to the bank.

no links out yet, but the PC hasn't been over long.

Rolando McClain will start in Hall's place.....has been practicing with the ones for a while now. Mustin is the other ILB.

McCoy may have passed KB, anyways.

Keith Brown needs to grow up. What's a senior doing getting suspended???

Easy. Some apologists on here will say that Keith's just a "kid", and that they did dumb things when they were in college.

Reality: Keith needs to get his act together. So do several other guys on this team.

Although this isn't really the kind of news you want to hear in the days leading up to the first game, I don't think we are going to miss a step with either of them out of action. I have heard nothing but solid reports about McClain. He has been a freak at ILB and the only thing holding him back is getting a complete grasp of the Defense. I have a feeling that with Mustin playing so solidly at the other ILB spot, that the only way McClain would get any PT would be to take Hall's spot and this might be his chance to stay with the #1's.

As for KB, he's kind of in the same spot PT wise as Hall, since McCoy has really had one heck of a Fall Camp.

I am glad to see that Saban is sticking by his word to mold the players into men and get them ready for life after football. PH and KB and everyone else on the team needs to understand there is no excuse for breaking rules. If you break rules you pay the consequences. And we do not need any details of what happened. All we need to know is that CNS is showing what discipline is all about. These young guys are not kids!!

My guess is that you have heard all the details you are going to get. I seriously doubt anymore will be said from the staff or players. The rest will be pure speculation.

As far as the nature of the infractions is concerned, that is true (and I'm alright with that). The details I speak of are the nature of the suspensions--who, when, and how long. I sincerely hope that the info given so far covers the entire scope--two players suspended for one game each--but I, like most fans, would like confirmation.

I am by nature an optimist and a CNS believer, and I believe that he will effectively turn our players not only into football champions, but better men. These things are, unfortunately, often a part of forging character. I do not expect this to be the last suspension in the history of UA football.

I'm still interested in the (pertinent) details as they are revealed. Hopefully, this is a minor event for the team and a wake-up for the players involved.

An Aubie friend asked me about this yesterday. I thought he'd confused their depth chart status with this issue. Sounds like he knew what he was talking about.

Just a guess here, but Saban said in the past that he would punish players by giving them certain things to do and if they didn't succeed then they might face suspension. Maybe KB and PH were given tasks to complete and they didn't do it, which led to the suspension. It would just seem weird that he would suspend these guys right off the bat when he didn't with the others that had problems on the strip.

What sort of "confirmation" would you like? The announcement came directly from Coach Saban's mouth. :conf3:

I wonder if we're confusing cause and effect to a certain degree. Maybe the reason that Hall and Brown had been seemingly supplanted in their positions was that these suspensions were expected and just not formally announced. Just speculation but that could be another explanation for the move down the depth chart.
