sigh

I guess we can expect this to be a major theme of Gameday on Saturday.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops made it clear over the phone Monday night that he has no beef with Nick Saban. Stoops said it more than once.

But four years after the Sooners lost the BCS championship to Saban's LSU Tigers 21-14 in the Sugar Bowl -- aka LSU's backyard -- Stoops said he "may have made a mistake" by having the Sooners practice in the cavernous Louisiana Superdome in the days leading up to the game.

ridiculous...

you can see how much Belicheck's NOT being allowed to videotape on Sunday against San Diego really hurt the Pats...

everyone doesn't want to believe that another coach is smarter and harder working than they are, so they look for excuses and reasons. It's human nature, I guess...

because Notre Dame hasn't scored an offensive tds, so accusing him of stealing defensive signals would be kind of humorous...

Re: Maisel continues the "Saban worked for Belichick so he must be cheating" meme

blah blah blah, I mean I hate to point this out and all but Belichick didn't start it, didn't invent it, he may have ended it. To say one coach does and everyone else out there is angel standing outside the pearly gates is just crazy anyway. They got a major chance to jump on a Coach that isn't keen on the media and is low key and they took it for all it's worth. (I'm not defending the practice of doing it of course)

Now they are going to go after any successful coach that was ever under him and aiming in on ours (easy to jump on because of his turbulent camping out on the news this spring). Plenty of Colleges have always at some point closed practices especially if they wanna try a different approach, prep for a big game, try and get their first offensive touchdown, not only because of opposing staff but news and other sources of distraction.

Oh well what can ya do but ignore it.

It's a relief to know that no coaches other than those who have worked for Belicheck are capable of signal-stealing. Whew!

The coaches of the Jets, Browns and Irish are all okay. The Alabama coach is the cheater.

Sounds like Stoops is doing a fair amount of whining and trying to justify why his team was exposed in that LSU game.

The Sugar Bowl gave him his choice of practice fields, he said, and he chose the Superdome. The Sugar Bowl also allowed LSU to practice at the Dome after the Sooners finished.

"They were trying to hurry us up so that LSU could get on the field. … I found it strange that a couple of times [the Tigers] were standing in the hallway waiting for us to finish," Stoops said.

Stoops didn't recall a play that he believed LSU thwarted with inside information. He did recall that the Sooners played well enough despite early mistakes to have the ball deep in LSU territory with a shot at tying the game in the final minutes.

I imagine a post game handshake between CNS and CBS would now make the CNS/fRAN greeting look like a greeting between old friends.

If I were Stoops, I would use the "we were spied on" excuse on the USC game in which OU was thrashed.

Stoops is trying to come up with an excuse for having the top rated talent in the last 8 years recruiting classes, yet he finds a way to choke in the big games. I guess Bill Snyder from K State taped his signals too, because they beat the he!! out of Choklahoma much worse than the LSU in 2003. Besides 2000, Stoops has consistantly underachieved considering the talent they bring in. They look unbeatable again this year. Wonder how long it will be before they choke again??

Weis must be videotaping the buffet line at Barnhill's. :biggrin2:
I think he knows their every move.

To get a heads up on a new, vicious opponent, Weis was seen taping the Salad Bar at Ruby Tuesdays.

Come on everyone knows Maisel is bumbling idiot.......
I don't think Ivan is that, but I think the press is running with the "Georgia Closed Practice" story. If Richt is a "stand-up" guy like everyone says that he is, how come he hasn't came out and said that he is having a closed practice for other reasons?
