I was talking with a friend today and the subject of former Alabama QB Terry Davis came up and we were wondering if anyone knew where he is now? Anybody got any info?

The Crimson Tide only had fall camp to learn the wishbone offense. Terry Davis was the perfect QB to run it.

It would be nice if we had one of those "Where Are They Now" links for past Bama Players.
In "Turnaround", Stoddard lists current status of players from 60's-not sure
if it goes through the 70's -probably not, but I'll check.

I haven't seen Terry Davis the QB in a good while, but he was living in Atlanta area and came to Birmingham on business frequently. He would play golf with my ex and a few friends at ICC. Really nice guy :)

Terry was a friend of my grandmother who worked in the AD and in the Speech and Hearing Dept and she knew many of the players. We lived with her when I was little and went to church with Coach Stallings and Coach Wimp Sanderson. She use to keep the Sanderson boys at our house when Mrs. Sanderson would go to some of the road games. Anyhow I was 10 yrs old when Terry was at Bama and he was my favorite player at the time. We lived in NJ at the time so the only time I got to see a Bama game was when they played on ABC and when they didn't I was glued to the Prudential Scoreboard show to see how Bama did. It was a huge thrill one day when I got a manila envelope with the U of A Athletic Dept on it. I opened it up and she had gotten Terry to autograph and mail me one of his black & white photos that the players had done by the university in those days for use in the newpapers. I still have that photo along with all of the others that she had gotten for me from players in the mid to late 60's. I hope one day to meet him in person to thank him...as it meant alot to a 10 yr old!

You can never trust my memory these days:)...Book that included "Where Are They Now?" was Career In Crisis by John David Briley

In September 2001 the University of Alabama honored the 1971 team; this was the 30-year reunion of this squad.....

#10 (QB) Terry Davis was listed as a sales manager in Ozark, Alabama.
I wondered if he and Wilbur Jackson (#80 RB) (listed as owner of a landscaping firm in Ozark) watch a game together!

BTW, this book is an excellent read and includes many charts of interest...well worth the bucks and time to read! One of my favorite lines from the book came from Coach John McKay, who said....
"Alabama just beat us....Defense, Alabama played defense. They brought it to us. I saw Paul's team on television against LSU and Auburn. Defense won both those games."

I am so looking forward to the time when again, 'Alabama just beats us!'
