Rolando McClain ?

I noticed this as well. There were also a couple of instances where he was very slow to pick the RB up out of the backfield on plays when OM was passing. When I say slow, I mean really slow.

If these things are that painfully obvious to us, we know the coaches see it. I am sure they will get it fixed one way or the other.

No doubt this needs to get fixed. Ole Miss gashed our defense in every aspect today.

You know thats right. It may be fixed later rather than sooner. Its up to him though. He can get it together and be a summer warrior moving forward or he can get replaced by someone who wants it more and works harder. I really hope a light comes on for him this year and then he can get the physical side of it in order over the off season. No reason to waste good talent and he definitely has the potential. :p_blank:

I agree.

You obviously know what I mean by "one way or the other." If we have players that are not doing the job, they won't be playing very much in the future.

PH has talent. For the most part, I was impressed by his game last week against Houston. I think CNS can be the best thing that ever happened to PH as a football player if he will listen and learn from him.

Its funny to read this stuff sometimes as people forget that Ole Miss has a team too, and some are pretty good. They get to watch video of tendencies, and player movements and adjust accordingly......the important thing is that we adjusted toward the end of the game.......and that's what mattered. The one thing I like about Prince Hall, is that he doesn't disappear during the game...... he's around the ball, making plays, almost making plays and disrupting flows.......yes, he makes mistakes, but he's still an underclassman, that makes his presence felt. But there are certain players (Simeon, D Ryans, Teague, Bennett, etc) from our past that had a nasty habit of always being around the ball, and Prince is one of those guys!

Under the last regime, I knew for certain that some players were playing on the basis of favoritism (that's really difficult to believe, isn't it, when the bosses' jobs were on the line). Now, I believe that, if RC is not playing, it's because someone else should be. I don't have to lose sleep over that point...

I agree, there is only room for so many players... the best (that week) should play. I have never liked coaches who use the "doghouse" concept as a excuse to hold a grudge all season. I think it hurts the team. If the man improves it should be recognized and he should play. The only exception to that concept I can see is if the player gets too mouthy with his coaches. There is no room for that lack of discipline and lack of respect in any sport.

To Prince Hall's credit, he did get his hand on the ball several times. Woulda been nice if he had been aware enough to make the interception, but I'll take what I can get.

PH is a credit to this team. He is still game rusty at the moment but I think that he has improved greatly in the past two weeks. If he keeps up this intensity and works hard in practice he will be where we need him in early November...and we will need him.

But at least he can make a tackle without being dragged 5 yards or run over.

If that is a statement about RM I don't see it. He is a freshman that stepped into a tough spot with a high learning curve and played very good football early on. I have seen him punish some people with his tackling.

He may be on the bench now but I still think he will be playing more this year and more importantly, he will be a large part of Bama's D for the next three years. His potential is all upside, I see him playing on Sundays. :BigA:

I can understand PH starting if he's had a better week of practice, but as thin as we are, I can't understand why RM didn't at least see some relief duty. He's quite a bit faster than PH. I remember seeing him in the game some against UH, but he looked really slow, to me. Hope he's not hurt........we're gonna need him.

Don't understand this one, either.

That's my point Hawk.

Just wondering if he is hurt or in trouble. If neither of those is the case, I would think he has earned PT. I was looking for some info, but it doesn't appear anyone has any, or CNS feels he doesn't fit into the rotation right now. If that's the case , I am not questioning it, just find it puzzling.

Our lack of rotation, and changes in lineups has been puzzling all year. Im sure it will get better in time when we get more depth/ get players that fit his system more and he knows what he likes.

Not a puzzle here, the CNS has said repeatedly you earn your position each week, if you don't practice well you don't play. Rotation is made when it is required and I am sure as you alluded to the more recruits of his he has the more frquent the rotation.

Teams were starting to pick on RM because of his inexperience in pass coverage. CNS was quite frank in his remarks about that prior to the UH game. Having RM on the field early against those first few teams made a lot of sense, with the injury situation of the other LBs. I think they're trying to be fair to RM, as much as anything...

Did those people graduate or can we at least assume they are not starting this year?

I have yet to see anyone run over RMC or drag him 5 yards down the field. Hope to see him get some more PT. RTR

I don't think playing the run is an issue for him, he looks to flow to the ball pretty good and no RB is going to run him over. However, he has had some mistakes in picking up assignments in pass coverage where Prince Hall has not, or maybe not as often.

I agree with you guys that RM has not taken to the pass coverage as well as CNS wants and the play calling or making the adjustments was a cause for his sitting from what I hear..

I think PH has returned to form that got him SEC All- American I believe it was so its hard to beat out that type of player to start with. No worries RM is a machine and I am sure with CKS coaching him his form will be All-American in no time.. Can you imagine if Arthur Brown commits and having RM and him in the spots next year?? WOW!!

I think we will see a mix of PH and RM against ucheat this week.
