Muschamps Recruiting Fall-out

Will there be any? Any barner recruits that we could steal away from Awbarn? Apparently, Muschamps was a key recruiter for them, and his leaving couldn't come at a worse time of year for them (with signing day around the corner).
 
I'm sure there will be a little fall-out but to what degree, no can say yet. IMO, the recruits who grew up as Barn fans, stay committed because it's not about any one individual. But for the recruits who are 'open' and have established a relationship with Muschamp, then yes, there could be fall-out.

I'm hoping J. Harris is in the latter group.

Its a little late for some to be jumping from the ship. Those who wanted to play for Muschamp will have to suck it up and play for the new DC. :BigA:
 
Yeah, I really hope this brings J. Harris to T-town. I don't think we have any room for any of their other guys, but Harris is a guy who could probably contribute right away.

I think if he comes to Alabama he will be a starter at some point during the 2008 season. I am not predicting he will start from game one, maybe so, maybe not, but there is little doubt in my mind he would be a starter for us next year if we were to get him.

I think Muschamp leaving All-Barn for Texas may help our chances of getting him also.
 
I think AU may end up with several big "name" recruits before signing day. Guys like:

Jerrell Harris
Antoine McLain
William Green
Glen Harbin

This will give the barners plenty to crow about how Tubby is great recruiter, and closes strong and they don't understand all of the hype about Coach Saban being so much better. I hope this doesn't play out, but I could see it happening. :rolleyes:

They may get Antoine Mclain if he doesn't go to Tennessee and they may get Harris if we can't land him. But Green is going to Florida and Harbin is Bama bound if there is room. If not he will not go to the boogers, he will end up at Florida with Green.
 
I'm not trying to flame anybody, but why are there some saying Jarrell Harris is in the bag for All-Barn? He's been very quiet during his recruitment. Why is it a foregone conclusion he's going to All-Barn.

OLB is a HUGE need for us. CNS has made Harris a top priority and it appears Muschamp is leaving All-Barn for Texas. Why wouldn't we have a great shot at getting him?

Don't know the reasons for others' comments, but have felt all along that Harris and McClain were in the AU 'bag' despite all of the machinations. Believe they were a ruse to hide their real intentions. IMO, the both end up at AU and were NEVER going anywhere else. Just a gut feel and a little more about that situation.

I wonder why McClain tried to commit to Bama on more than one occasion earlier in the year if he was already "in the bag" for allbarn??? :conf3:
That line of thinking doesn't mesh with what has happened. It remains to be seen with Harris but I somehow doubt he's "in the bag" for allbarn.
 
I have a gut feeling that McClain & Harris will end up at the Barn too. With the primary reason being pure odds. Bear Bryant would be envious of the way we have so completely dominated them in-state this year. I've never seen anything like it. It just seems that the odds would dictate that they would pull a couple of decent players before its all over and the Gadsden-Anniston area is pretty Barn-friendly.

I hope you're right, I really do, and I will be the first one to stand up and say I was wrong. But what you are saying regarding JH doesn't square with what I know living here in Gadsden.;) ...

By that logic, it would make sense maybe for McClain, we don't have a big need for him. Unless Harris is an Barner fan, then I don't see that logic working for him... he'd have a chance to start next season @ Alabama before its all over with, that's doubtful in Auburn.
