Stadium Food Prices/ Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium (Merged)

Re: Stadium Food Prices

Yea it was bad. But, it didn't seem to turn people away. I waited in line for 15-20 minutes at halftime. That sure was a good coke though, welcome home Coca Cola..

Re: Stadium Food Prices

$6.00 Cokes -- The University White Collars have absolutely lost their minds...

And

What's with not having the JumboTron on the Quad this year...?!?

The University said that it was due to "financial constraints" -- this coming from an athletic program that had a +30 million NET profit last year,

Removing the JumoboTron from The Quad -- That's pretty cheap IMHO

** Instead of a JumboTron the University has gotten a little greedy -- they zoned a few more reserved tailgating locations there **

:mad2:

Re: Stadium Food Prices

AT least it was a large coke for $6. My kids drink like fish and we bought drinks more than hour before kickoff and none of them asked for more until halfway through the 4th quarter.

The jumbotron was removed for "traffic and congestion" problems according to Gene Hallman.

hmmm...

"Due to financial constraints, the Jumbo-tron will not be on the Quad for the 2008 season. The University apologizes for any inconvenience.
Games will be shown at the Ferguson Center."

Reserve Tailgate Spaces (SOLD OUT)

"After the success of the reserved tents that were introduced in 2007, we have added several more reserved tent spaces for the 2008 season."

I wonder where UA found room for extra reserved tent spaces?

Umm...

Luckily, they removed the Quad Jumbotron due to "financial constraints", so the extra reserved tent spaces can go there!

Re: Stadium Food Prices

If it has just taken you until now to figure out UA is money hungry...you've been living under a rock

They'll get it any way they can and I'm not surprised by the price hikes.

I got stadium dog, coke, and nachos --- $15

They also cut cost by making the $3.50 souvenir cup $4 and making it paper.

I was also kinda sad I had to get a huge nachos for 2 bucks more :(

BUT!!!!

I just consider the $15 a donation to alabama football.....the rest is just free food

:)

Edit: The Jumbotron removal is just over the top greedy by the university. That really ticks me off. I never used it....but always thought it was a great amenity to have for those who were unable to get tickets to the game and just wanted to kick it on the quad

Oh well....it lasted 1 year -- ha!

The big screen television was moved from the Quad LAST year to the soccer parking area - can't remember which game but it was moved due to safety reasons (the huge number of people trying to crowd onto the Quad, etc.).
Seems that it was fairly early in the season last year when it was moved from the Quad. :BigA:

I didn't think I saw a jumbotron in the quad last year when I went to the Houston game. And I was walking around the quad on my way to the car during the 4th quarter.

Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

I saw a couple of weeks back that there might be Five Guys or Dreamland in the stadium. I didn't see any of that, but I didn't explore. Where are these spots inside Bryant-Denny?

I know I saw a big Dreamland sign on the West upper deck concession area around mid-field.....

FYI - not sure when they did it, but apparently they've expanded the original Dreamland in Tuscaloosa - had several people tell me they went there before the game and got in and out with NO WAIT - even ate there, which is virtually unheard of for a game day unless you like ribs at 8:30 in the morning....

Re: Stadium Food Prices

All I know, is during halftime and most of the 2nd half, the concesssion sstands in my section was dead. It was funny looking at the cones in front for lanes of traffic and there was no traffic. BTW, For $4.oo, there was on the menu "Cheese Cup". Was that just melted cheese in a cup. All I know is that after the game, my brother got King Size Combo meal at Burger King for $6.50 and that was the same price as a Souvenir Cup. I bet those prices will be dropping real soon.

we got some Dreamland on the lower level of the West stands...nothing spectacular, but it was a nice change...sandwiches, sausage and nachos...typical stuff...

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

I sat in the upper deck above the Zone (sec 424). In the Bear Den, there was DreamLand Nachos, but I didnt see ribs on the menu. To the right of the Den, we had Ezells. I did see coming in on the Upper SouthEast side a big DreamLand sign. My wife and I love Five Guy's fries and was looking for that but didnt find it.

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

dreamland nachos? wonder what Big John would think of that.

Re: Five Guys, Dreamland in Stadium?

They need garlic fries on the menu. We had those in San Francisco at AT&T Park 2 summers ago.
